Do you think it looks good or just hate it because its fake?Guys: What do you think of fake (acrylic) nails when they look like this..?
So I'm a girl but I like them

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>Guys: What do you think of fake (acrylic) nails when they look like this..?
looks Great
If it is on someone who never dresses up or tries to dress up, then it seems like they're being fake, and they just wanted some attention. Although if it is someone who usually does dress up, then it can be attractive since that's their personality.
it looks great i like it so does friends
I'm a girl but Those are really cute, they don't look too fake they just look neat and pretty. I'd get them cause I don't like fake nails, especially when their too long, but those are perfect.

Ive actually never heard a guy's opinion on fake nails, all I know is guys prefer natural, but those nails look natural.
Wow, real cute!I want one!

Sorry 'm a girl and my guy loves my nails ;) They are real though.
Fake nails that at least look natural aren't bad, its the odd shaped or really long nails that are ugly.
Look good:()
im a woman - but they are sooo nice !

honestly, wheree they from?
I am one to get my nails done often and looking at the picture of the nails who ever does them does them well.Looks like a great job.
I'm a woman and I think they look very feminine. I too wear a French Manicure... not for attention but because I like to keep myself looking nice.
i love long nails. they feel great for back scratches and scratching the back of my neck. idc if they're fake.
It looks fine, I dont exactly care about a girls nails.
it looks soooooooooo cute!!!! i wish i can do that!!
truth is... guys (straight ones anyway) don't occupy their time staring at a girls nails... there are other places that we stare (you should know where those are)
It defiantly looks good, although for some guys it not important. as a personal preference I like my women to dress and look different almost every week. 1 week i like her to dress more sporty others more of the baggy pants, sports bra type shirt and other times I like her to look really girlie. So I think as long as you like them what the guy thinks should not matter to much.
super duper cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whats our opinion on fake nails?

I think fake nails are so retarted and gay I mean 4 real why would you wear something that is obviously fake?Whats our opinion on fake nails?
I hate them. Love my nails short and natural.Whats our opinion on fake nails?
If not too long they're ok I guess but you have to take really good care of them to look fine

Otherwise it's just tacky
They look all right if you don't make them too long.

I have a hard time with them, because if I grow my nails beyond a certain point I wind up scratching myself, so I don't wear fake nails either.
They will look really good, as long as they aren't super long. But they are a little bit of a hassle to keep up with.
I like them..
They feel great on a bare back.
I love my acrilics (spelling?). They can look really chic if they aren't too long
i like the way that they look but they are not good for your real nails
ok, don`t jump at me, `cause this is just my personal opinion.

I have tried fake nails many times and i believe that as long as they are not too long and as long as they don`t have the butterflies, the stars and all that stuff on them that makes the scream: FAKE , they are ok. Now , the last time i`ve tried them , after i took them off, my nails were so beat up, it took me 6 months to get them back to normal. So, now i have decided not to wear them anymore.I also dislike the way it feels when one of them almost comes off.
hate them. first of all, its fake and second, it's a chore getting them done. having a nice manicure is more than enough to give you nice and pretty nails.
In the beginning, u think they look great, but they brake too easily. And they are fake! Don't be afraid to show off your REAL nails. Hope I could help!

i agree, when they put acrylic nails on you, they make your natural nails supperr thin and un-even. but they look really really pretty and are stronger that our natural nails (sometimes), so i love em, cuz our natural nails will still grow out sometime :)
They look great and add flair to any occasion. My bf loves it when I run my fingers through his hair...

How long do your nails have to be in order to get fake ones put on?

about mid way to the skin should be okay or normal length.

just dont cut them way too short and it will be easyHow long do your nails have to be in order to get fake ones put on?
As long as you have a decent nail bed, then you can have fake nails put on. Make sure you go to a reputable place to have your nails filled every 2 weeks. If you don't get them done every 2 weeks, your nails could break or you can get a fungus underneath. How long do your nails have to be in order to get fake ones put on?
They don't have to be long at all they just put a tip on and go from there you decide on how long you want them and if you want them rounded or squared i always go for the squared.
They can be as short as possible. They glue the tip on to your nail about mid-way down, and go over it with an acrylic gel so it doesn't matter if your nails are long or bitten down to a nub. :)
There is no set length. Most places cut them down if you have to much length to your own nails. They then glue a tip on file that smooth and acrylic to them. Start out with your fake nails being a short workable length for you and grow into them. Most people don't realize your own natural nail is also square round not round. Meaning when you have them filed the tip should be squared off with rounded edges.
most of these answers are correct... i work in retail and ii swear by my white-tip acrylic nails. i have always found the shorter the natural nail, the more ';grow out'; time you have.
I used to bite mine all the way and got fake ones but not all places may do that I would say to be safe have a little white at the end.
It doesnt really matter. I knew a girl that had them REALLY short and she put some on.
If your nails are not broken or biten to the quick you could get fake nails. Some salons will put them on any way but they won't stay.
well if you put fake nails on you will ruin your real ones and then you wont have any nails at all because they will ruin them and they will fall off.
Your nails don't have to be long at all....You have the option of leaving your nails the lenght they are or cutting them all off...As long as you have a nail bed your're good.

Fake nails!!!?

I have gel tips on my fingers and I want to know how to take them of? I've tried soaking them in water but that does not really help!!!Fake nails!!!?
soak in mineral spiritsFake nails!!!?
you can use regular nail polish remover. the acetone will melt them off.
buy polish remover with acetone and soak your tips in that - the nails will peel off with no damage to your nails. That is what the nail salons use...
the dugstore has artificial nail remover, just ask someone in cosmetics where it is
GO GET PURE ACETONE? I DONT KNOW IF I SPELLED THAT RIGHT. BUT YOU GET THAT AND SOAK YOUR FINGER TIPS IN IT. IT MAKES IT EASIER BUT ITS STILL KINDA HARD TO GET THEM OFF. ACETONE IS WHAT IS IN NAIL POLISH REMOVER.....YOU CAN BUY IT ANYWHERE THEY SALE POLISH REMOVER.
soak them in pure acetone for about 30 min. or so....they r really hard to get off! you can get it at wal-mart for a few $$
well you know you can pay them to take them off for you... but when i have acryllic nails and i do it myself.. (this might sound painful, but its not) ...i just bite the nail sideways and it cracks them and then i just lift them off with like nail clippers or whatever...then i file the rest down ... good luck =)
It's been yrs since I've used fake nails...you just reminded me why I stopped using them. Ha. They're a headache to keep up with. I remember I soaked them in acetone (nail polish remover) to take them off. They also sell products that help remove them. I remember using it too. I just don't remember the name of it. It comes in a jar with a sponge inside and the liquid absorbed by the sponge. You should find it in a beauty supply store or a pharmacy store. Good luck.
Even though many reputable salons use products that are considered safe, there's still the chance that getting fake nails applied will damage your natural nails. You will damage your own nail if you try to take them off yourself!

Instead, return to the salon so the nails can be removed professionally. If you get your nails done often, it's also a good idea to give your real nails a break once in a while.

If you don't have money to get them professionally taken off, then try soaking your nails in nail polish remover.

Good luck!

-Ashley-
Go to the place you got them done and they'll take them off for you!
Soak them in acetone (nail polish remover) and then peel them off.
Well, try going to the nail salon they have stuff you dip your fingers in to take it off

Can u put in contacts while wearing fake nails?

i just got my contact's n i was wondering if i put on fake nails can i put them in still...if so how do i bcuz i really wanna kno PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ HELPCan u put in contacts while wearing fake nails?
I wear contacts and have acrylics on my nails...so they're kind of long. Taking the contact out is harder than putting it in!!!

Try to use the sides of your fingertips...thats what has worked for me. And be careful of tearing...but if you are cautious you shouldn't have any major problemsCan u put in contacts while wearing fake nails?
    Yeah, just be very careful!!!!
um, what does one have to do with the other? its not rocket science

OK, fake boobs or not been asked a lot, how about fake nails?

Do guys care if a girl has fake nails or not as long as they look good? I used to have perfect nails but lately they been breaking left and right, litterally. I was thinking of getting fake nails. BTW, I have nothing against fake breast but I don't have any plans on getting them.OK, fake boobs or not been asked a lot, how about fake nails?
There is nothing wrong with fake nails.

%26gt;%26gt;OK, fake boobs or not been asked a lot, how about fake nails?
i'm not a guy. i agree that people should be happy with what they have and stop getting fake things. however, i do agree that fake nails are not breast implants so sure, fake nails are nice if ur real nails are hard to maintain or not nice etc. just be careful with the guidelines like don;t leave them on long etc. guys don't read into this much so don;t worry. but ps- dont' go slutty or overboard with ultra long nails. that's gro.ss. french maniciures are hot so ya do it. :)
why can't women just be natural? fake nails....fake boobs.....fake everything just be happy with what u have
You can't just say all guys. I mea some guys like fake nails, some don't. Some (for some reason) have a serious problem with plastic surgery, some don't. It just depends on the guy. Just like you may like guys with blond hair and they have to be 5'11'; or taller, where s/one else may want blackl hair, and short, etc...

Just do what you like, and if thye don't like it, they can get over it, and if they can't then they really aren't for you in the first place!
I am totally against getting fake boobs. But fake nails aren't that bad. If it makes you feel more comfortable about yourself, go ahead and get em. But most guys dont care about your nails. So its really up to you! Good Luck!

only way is buff it off, next time put vasaline over your nails and wash yr hands with cold water, not hot as it helps it develop quicker.

I don't know if it actually works or not though.

Also try scrubbing with a nail scrubber brush thingeemajiggy :D
They won't be stained forever, you know.

Try scrubbing them with a nail brush and soapy water.
baking soda and water work the best

    Fake nails & super glue?

I stupidly thought it was a good idea to use super glue to stick my fake nails back on the other day and didnt really think about the conceqences..

so has anyone got any ideas of how to remove these nails without pulling off my own?

    HELP!!

    =(Fake nails %26amp; super glue?
Iv'e also found my self in the same situation as you once. It's not necessarily a stupid idea applying super glue on your nails, after all they do intend to last longer. ALL you have to do is use hot water on yor nails. but do not attempt to use boiling water, you do not want to burn your hands off and dont' use luke warm, coz it wont work, just put warm/hot water on a basin and leave your hands in it for about 15min then add a little of lemon juice for about 10min so your hands dont look chaped, Try it, it realy works beautifuly and be patient.Fake nails %26amp; super glue?
they will eventually just fall of or you can bite them off little by little or soke them in polish remover or go to a nail place and ask them to take them off
Soak your fingers in nail polish remover, ti will eat away at the super glue and then the nails will be easier to pull off.
This site has tips about removing super glue http://www.ehow.com/how_17787_remove-sup鈥?/a> - though I would personally avoid the sandpaper part since you are dealing with your hands. Good luck!
soak your fingers in acetone based finger nail polish for about 30-45 mins. then GENTLY peel your fingernails off. i'm not going to lie. it might hurt a little, but if will hurt less after you soak them. p.s you can buy acetone base finger nail polish remover at any store right next to the regular finger nail polish remover for the same price. good luck

    Can I get fake nails?

I have brittle nails. They do grow, but when they do, they break. I also often bite my nails when I am bored. It was a fairly new habit I picked up. I used to bite them when I was little, but I had stopped. I'm thirteen. My mom said that I can get whatever extra I want if I pay for it, and I understand they are costly. I have the money. Are fake nails right for me?Can I get fake nails?
Fake nails can be worn by almost anyone...although with some people there is risk of infection or allergic reaction. It's rare though. Yes they can be expensive and if you get acrylics, rather than the press on plastics, you need to maintain them by getting them filled. Also if you get acrylics there is the chance that the salon may use a chemical called methyl methacrylate which can rip nails off fingers, cause nerve problems and severe rashes - and over the long term hurt kidneys, livers and fetuses. So just be careful and ask questions at the salon you have them done at. Hope this helps, have fun and enjoy. Can I get fake nails?
fake nails are not all that much. Here in CA, you can get a full set of acrylic nails for 30 bucks. Silk wrapped are 50.

Your nails will look nice as long as you keep it up, taking fake nails off will leave your nails looking like crap for a couple months.

Also might help you break the habit of biting your nails. Trying to bite really hard nails off doesn't work, but will also cause them to crack and break off (would be a waste of money). So its best not to do it.

Also if you decide not to get fake nails, eating more fish will help your hair, and nails grow faster and stronger. Fish have a vitamin that our bodies can't produce, that helps with that sort of thing.

Hope I help with your decision

  • Fake nails?

i've been dieing to get tips for nails or fake nails. does anyone know how much they are in a manicure place?..and also if i buy store-bought ones and do it myself, do you know any good brands?Fake nails?
go get them done professionally if you want them to last.. mine was about $30 but my friends have got them for cheaper! press ons dont last! i had 3 fall off within 24 hours of putting them on! professional nails last for several weeks and plus!--- your nails will be growing underneath them! so when they come off you'll still have long pretty nails! Especially nice if your a nail biter like myself! =]Fake nails?
    Well, I think they have acrylic nails that start at like $50 or so and then are a certain amount to fill every few weeks. They also have this kind called ';permanent french'; nails which are bigger $$$ %26amp; they look awesome but your still filling those every few weeks (%26amp; it gets pricey)---%26gt;

I'd suggest getting manicures to make your nails look nice (not fake %26amp; trashy). Mani's go for about $10-$12 and you can get a fresh one (fresh color too) each week!!!
I first get a full set at my salon. $20.00 plus I give a 5 for a tip. Every other wk I get fills for 15 %26amp; I still leave 5 for a tip. I don't need a full set again for sev. months. :) it's a nice treat just for me to have them professionally manicured.
Tips are about 40 dollars for the first time and then every two weeks maximum you need to go for a fill in which is around 20 dollars if you plan on maintaining them.
there $20+ to get them done. it depends on where you go.

but i wouldent suggest doing them yourself they wont turn out good, and they wont last as long.
in a manicure place it will cost you from $25-35 depends where you go !!

i recomend not buying them on the store- (trust me they look very crappy)
If you get them done in a salon, they're about $20-25.

Depends on the place and style you want then.
it really depends on where you get it done.. i paid like 20$ for mine but i got it at some asian place... if you buy them at the store its probably less then 10
they usually run around $25. store bought ones dont last and arent worth it.

How much would it cost me to get a manicure and a pedicure..I want french tips. I dont want fakes nails.?

Prom is friday and I'm doing too many last minutes adjustments. Just thought I'd ask people online the price so I wouldn't have to go out to the salon without the right amount of money. How much would it cost me to get a manicure and a pedicure..I want french tips. I dont want fakes nails.?
The tips I got for graduation were $20, they were great. I bought fake toenails, but I think a pedi is about the same price. How much would it cost me to get a manicure and a pedicure..I want french tips. I dont want fakes nails.?
You are looking at spending about $35-$40 for both.
French manicure would be about $20-25.

Pedicure it depends on what style you want.
if your getting it on your natural nails.. i would say around $30-$40 for everything.. pedicure can usually range from 15-20 in a casual place (not a spa) and manicure can be from 10-20 as well.. hope that helps.. (dont forget tip)
it will cost about 20$ but it varies business to business

does that help? if not sorry
Depends on where you go. There is a lot of small places that you will probably end up spending $35.00 to $40.00. If you do to a nicer salon then the price will go up. Plan on spending at least $50.00.

Fake nails for a night out?10 POINTS?

i bite my nails, will it look stupid if i were to wear fake glue on nails? i dont have time to book an appointment for acrylics. any tips on making them look natural... thanku.....Fake nails for a night out?10 POINTS?
No, not at all. As long as they don't look too obvious and/or cheap.

And the answer above is correct, they do tend to fall off pretty easily.Fake nails for a night out?10 POINTS?
Don't bite your nails! Or it won't be beautifully shaped any more ...

Fake nails can look over the top, and if you haven't done it before it's best left alone. Acrylics can damage your nails because it doesn't let your nails breathe. How about trying something else?

One way to make them look really beautiful naturally is to just file the bitten edges off, and get a buffing block. Find one with the steps printed on them, so you don't have a hard time using it.

One such would be like this:

    http://www.amazon.com/The-Body-Shop-Nail鈥?/a>

It smooths away the ugly dry ridges on your nails, and polishes it such that it has mega-shine which looks gorgeous, smooth, shiny and natural-looking. I buff my nails a lot and they look so beautiful that people ask if I paint varnish over them! (which I don't)

Watch this to find out how to buff your nails:

    http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-file鈥?/a>

Another thing you might want to try is to give yourself a DIY French Manicure. This means pinks nails with thin white tips, which imitates the look of natural, healthy nails. All you need is some basecoat, white nail polish, transparent or translucent pink varnish, and topcoat. Some shops also sell French Manicure kits (I think Sally Hansen has one!) so you might want to try that too.

Here's a video on how to do a French Manicure:

    http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-give鈥?/a>
The fake nails you glue on from a shop probably won't last the full night so it's best not to go down that route. My friend did it once and came back with about one left.

Just paint them in a bright colour or something. I know that's not exactly the natural look but bright colours look good on short nails.
If you have time than use a nail file and try to make your nails look better, then a pretty color polish and then go with the flow. He should like you for who you are, not how your nails look.
Fake nails are disgusting ... keep them natural and resolve your bitting problem
ohh no you wont look stupid or weird or anything if its just for one night than yeah thats fine i think you should do it itll be fine. :o

Do guys like it when girls have fake nails??

or do you like well maintained real nails??Do guys like it when girls have fake nails??
Fake nails done tastefully, not too long can be nice on a girl. Now men you can be fake too, lying about your being single when you aren't and lying about your ages too.Do guys like it when girls have fake nails??
do not have anything that is fake. physically or mentally.
I'm a guy... I hate ANYTHING fake on the girls I date.
Obviously maintaining real nails look good......if maintained properly then looks really glamorous! fake nails are looks cheap................
i dont really go for girls who are all about their looks. fake nails can still look good though. just be urself and im sure ur bf wont care.
My husband gives me the extra money to go get my nails done. He loves the fake look and especially when I scratch his back with em.
Fake nails are a big turnoff to me.
girls put fake nails for other girls ...

I like it not because of the nail, because of the time girls actually spend on them and try to make it look good

    Thanks Girls love ya!
to be honest i dont thin they really care. which ever ones loo good thats the ones that they like. i dont think they mind either way. as long as they look good
    lol good question!!

Here's a shallow, girly question for the men. Guys, do you prefer nice fake nails on a chick or not-so-nice ?

    real ones?

I'm not asking for a friend. Here's a shallow, girly question for the men. Guys, do you prefer nice fake nails on a chick or not-so-nice ?
With hooters like yours, I can't believe youre asking this. Here's a shallow, girly question for the men. Guys, do you prefer nice fake nails on a chick or not-so-nice ?
My hubby likes the fake acrylic nails, I like the really real ones. I can put on my jewelry, type properly, or scratch with these friggin things on!! I want to crack these bishes off! Plus they are expensive!!!
I prefer ones that don't make me think that my flesh will be laid open any time she touches me. Beyond that, if the don't have grease under them, I doubt I would notice.
My friend told me that having long nails makes certain finger-poking dangerous.

    Well, that's what she said!

    *looks around, whistling*
Fake ones. AsUWish said it. It feels so good to get a back scratch from girls when they have fake nails.

Well, I read her answer wrong. I actually disagree with her. Fake ones are better for back scratches.
Shaniqua requires the long, red ones with curved ends to leave claw marks on my back after coitus.
Real ones, even if they're chewed. I think chewed nails are a sign of issues. Fake ones only hide this.
    Honestly?

We couldn't give a fvck less about the nails..they could be chewed to

the quick, and we wouldn't care.

Just being honest, my friend :)
    It doesn't really matter.
The only fake thing that a chick should have is the fur coat.
I prefer real women, nails are not that important, being nailed however is important
All the men in my life like my real, long ones. I know this because I spend a considerable amount of time giving back scratches.
If this is the only choice, natural is best even if they are way too long.
my girly answer is the real ones, they are better for back scratching

and I dont mean the itchy kind
I like a little length because the feeling of long nails against my skin drives me absolutely insane! I really like that feeling. I don't care if they are real or fake, just have some length.
ew those plastic ones are gross.

    especially when they pop off.
    I get mine sharpened...

    cheap Ginsu solution.
doesnt matter to me. nails digging in are nails digging in. :)
    keep it natural.
    ever seen Edward Scissor hand..lol.
I will chime in for my s/o and guess that he would say he would prefer me not to have claws. =)
I prefer there be nothing fake about a woman
if she has nice natural ones then those are better

but if not i like fake nails but just too long
I prefer the not-so-nice (If nice, real ones were an option I'd choose that)

How do they type with long nails? haha
I prefer real to fake any day. That includes boobs, fingernails, hair, etc.
real ones...i suspect your not so nice real ones got damaged by the fake nails.
    Were you just watching ';What Not to Wear?';

The ex-exotic dancer who wore the raccoon tail all over.?

    Yea, I wanna marry her!

    AH CRAP! Nails!

Where the hell are my reading glasses!!!???

My nails are stained from fake tan. How can I remove it please?

Try lemon juice - that is usually good with stained nails. Also, I have heard that some people soak their nails using denture soak as it whitens - not tried it, but you never know!My nails are stained from fake tan. How can I remove it please?
Try handwashing some clothes is the sink.My nails are stained from fake tan. How can I remove it please?
have you tried nail polish remover? that worked for me.
pumice stone my friend used it the other day and her hands were a mess!
lemon juice is good or a strong nail varnish remover baby wipes also work
Try peroxide. You can also use one of those buffer files. The 2 sided one... I used to take nail classes, it was a long time ago. There was something in there about using peroxide to remove stains.
Cover it with bright nail polish if all else fails!

  • Acrylic vs. fake nails vs. gel nails? (easy 10 points to first best answer!)?

can you tell me everything you know please?

    and maybe add some pictures.

    which are easier to maintain?

is it hard to grab things and write?

whats left on your nail when they come off?

    how much do they cost?

and how long do they last?

i know its a lot of questions but ill give an easy ten points!Acrylic vs. fake nails vs. gel nails? (easy 10 points to first best answer!)?
Acrylic nails last less longer than gel nails.

You have to get acrylic nails filled (touched up,) every two weeks unless you want them to look gross, or if you want to take them off.

You can take them off with acetone. '

You can find nail remover at the store. Sally's, Wal-mart. etc.

They are both equally easy to maintain. Except for the fillings.

It is harder to grab, type, etc. with either.

If you take them off with acetone, your nails will be a little weak, but they'll be fine if you put a clear coat of vitamin-enriched nailpolish on them.

The acrylics cost around 20-30 dollars. Gel nails are usually 30-40 dollars.

Acrylics last two weeks. Gels last 3-4 weeks.

    ---

Fake nails? Like the ones you apply yourself?

    They cost around 10-15 dollars.

    They only last a week.

The glue is sometimes noticeable because it is a full nail being applied, not just a tip.

I personally like the acrylics/gels much better.Acrylic vs. fake nails vs. gel nails? (easy 10 points to first best answer!)?
I would recommend gel nails because they look more natural and are easier to maintain. If you get them a sporty length then you will be able to grab things and write. Most of the time they won't mess up your nail beds when they are removed but, I know they can cause yeast and fungus to grow on the nail bed. They cost a little more than acrylics and they last about 2-3 weeks.
acrylic and gel nails last longer

but r the worst for ur nails

the gel costs like 5 or 10 dollars more than the acrylic depending on where you go. When you take them off your real nails are sort of thin and white. When you get acrylics they last for 2 weeks and then after the 2 weeks you go back in to get a fill. THey usually cost around 20 - 25 dollars. OH and the gel is for making ur nails shinier longer. Hope i helped!

I put fake nails on then took them off now the gule is still on my real nails, help, how do i get it off?

    1) apply petroleum jelly to protect the skin around your nails

    2) soak some cotton balls w/ nail polish remover %26amp; allow them to sit on your fingernails for 3-5 minutes

    3) using a fresh cotton ball, swipe each nail

    4) follow w/ a light buffing if necessary

    5) wash your hands %26amp; moisturize, apply nail oil

Work in a well ventilated area w/ open windows. Put down thick cotton towels to protect the surface you're working on. Allow the nail polish remover to evaporate before throwing away the cotton balls.I put fake nails on then took them off now the gule is still on my real nails, help, how do i get it off?
you can try warm or hot waterI put fake nails on then took them off now the gule is still on my real nails, help, how do i get it off?
    file it off.
    nail polish remover
You can go to any store like Walmart,K-Mart,Target etc and go to your nail care aisle...buy a bottle of 100% acetone.. pour some of it in a bowl and soak your fingers in it for a couple mins. It will dissolve the glue right off. Smells a little bit but works great!
Try warm or hot water, emery board, or nail polish remvoer sometimes helps.
hiii....you have to put ASITON on your nails

    .....%26gt;%26gt;%26lt;%26lt;

i think the glue will get off :D

    byeeeee%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;good luck
file it off with an emery board
I put fake nails on too sometimes, and now I have fake nails from the salon, the glue does stay for a day or 2 and when you scratch it off with your nails, and wash it, it will come off, not to worry! I hate when the glue is still there, but I'm not worried, it always comes off soon!

Can I get fake nails print out of the computer.?

If you mean nail design patterns, then I'm sure you can find some with google. Can I get fake nails print out of the computer.?
Uh... No. Last time I checked, there is no little printer for acrylic press on nails. It's either decals or airbrush I guess.

    How to make fake nails?

rather go back to her or someone else and ask them to take them off r u gonna get in trouble by ur parents or something? haha

    well good luck
go back to the salon or soak them in acetone for a while...

but yeah they're really hard to take off and they hurt, then you gotta file off the remainder of the glue and stuff. its a pain!!!

i love how they look but hate taking them off
I tried the acetone after i got mine done for prom. I eventually wound up going back to the salon %26amp; asking them to take them off for me.
if they are acrylic you can usually remove them with Acetone nail polish remover. Soak your fingertips in the remover. Make sure its the Acetone kind, the non doesn't work. It might take a bit of work and it will smell like crap, but it should work to soften the glue. Or, you can call the salon where you got them and ask them how to remove them. tell them you can't afford to come in and have them removed and need to know a home remedy. Good luck.
you can go back to the salon and they can remove them.

if you take them off yourself, and you don't know what your doing, it will hurt, and your nails will look horrible for weeks.
You need to soak them in acetone based nail polish remover for several minutes after you clip the extra tip off! Clip it down until you reach your natural nails, then soak in acetone for about 20 minutes. IT should soften the entire fake nail and make it easy to pull it away from your real one!

Do you think fake nails are cute?

now, i need ur opinion. i recently bought fake nails, and i don't know if i like them or not. plz help me!!! thanks!:P)Do you think fake nails are cute?
I Do My Own Nails ALL the time.

You have to get the right design and brand, bcz if you get a certian type of glue and the nails arent the good kind, the nails will look very ugly.Do you think fake nails are cute?
Well, fake nails can go one way or another. Sometimes they can look cute, and other times they can look trashy. They have to be done neatly to work. But in my opinion, natural is the way to go.
I think natural is better, but whatever you think
If they are done neatly, then yes. But if you do them yourself and glue is everywhere..ick!

  • Does it hurt to take off fake nails?

i just put on fake nails they last about 1 week and i wanted to know if it hurts to take them out

the are kiss everlasting nailsDoes it hurt to take off fake nails?
Soaking them in warm water for about 10-15 minutes will soften the glue and make it easier to remove. If they are hard-core acrylics, get them removed by a professional. (Sorry I'm not familiar with the brand you got!)Does it hurt to take off fake nails?
by the end of the week, the glue will be worn off, and they might just fall off.. use a nail to take the other nails off, but if they wont come off, dont yank them off 1) they will hurt 2) it can damage your nails 3) you might even pull your nail off. someone already said this, but use an acetone based nail polish remover, and soak your nails for like 20 minutes, the acetone basically melts the fake nail and make it very soft, so you can just peel it off
Make sure you soak them in warm water for a while. It doesn't really hurt to take them off, unless you take them off right after you put them on. However, since they've been on for a week, and they're already probably starting to fall off, it won't be painful. Just be careful that you didn't glue the nail to your skin cause that can kinda hurt to take off. Sometimes the nail kit will come with a little wooden stick thing that you can use to sorta pry the nails off with. Just make sure to soak them!
Soak them in acitone and it will take them off. Because sometimes with Kiss fake nails your skin gets stuck to the glue so it does hurt to take them off. If you nails are already falling off it might not hurt. If you feel uncomfterble with taking them off because it hurts then soak them in acitone.
    its not unbarable pain.

but it will hurt a little

just soak them in hot water for a bit, and slowly take them off

like maybe try for a bit, then try later, i always get fake nails.

    :)

    good luckk

    have a good day:)
it depends how much glue u put on. if u put a lot on the edges of the nail it will hurt but if u just put it in the center i shouldnt. i used fake nails and they normally dont hurt. GOOD LUCK...;)
If you are talking about the ones you apply yourself at home, then it will likely only hurt a bit. Just soak them in water for a while and see if it helps loosen the glue.
Ya it hurts your peeling your nail off! Make sure to get them professionally removed or soak your hand in warm watcher with remover solution so there moist and wont hurt that bad.
it wont hurt, all you'll need to do is soak it in acetone, or u can use finger nail polish remover. it'll take a while though! hope that helps!
the ones with superglue no not really ive used them b4! the longer they stay one the glue will wore out

there not profesional nails no point of soaking them~!!!!! just peel them of

!u may feel a little pressure thats it!
    It will most likely hurt...

    Have a great day!
heck yeah specially when they crack in half...

    Fake nails?

its my first time getting them done.Is there different kinds? or is there just one kind?

About how long do they lastFake nails?
    acrylic and gel.

They last for about a month. And if you choose to get them taken off, your nails will be in really bad shape for about 5 months, until your real nails completely grow out.

I would suggest just getting a manicure, even though fake nails are really pretty.Fake nails?
If by fake nails you mean acrylics...then they last for about 2 weeks (well you need to go in about every 2 - 3 weeks to get a fill) and you can get a lot of different types. The common acrylic is to get a french manicure but you can make your nails unique by adding a stripe of color behind the white part of the nail. I also have friends who get their ring finger accessorized with like glitter or a flower (on both sides). Call your nail salon and ask them all of your questions....that's the only way to get a 100% accurate answer. (:
There's acrylic, gel, and two other kinds, which I cannot think of at the moment. [at least at the place where I went.] They all have different looks, and styles. They'll let you check them out.

I have gel nails at the moment, and they're pretty good so far. :) They're not that long, because I play sports, but still look nice. I thought they looked the nicest out of the four.

    Acrylic:

    http://livingfragrance.files.wordpress.c鈥?/a>

    Gel:

    https://www.beautyconcepts.co.uk/trade/i鈥?/a>

    DIFFERENCE;

The gel nails are more natural looking. But gel nails are weaker and you have more chance of breaking them, where acrylic is more durable, and thicker.
you can put different figures on them but theres only 1 kind of nail you have to tell them how long you want them tho. it depends if you take care of them or not on how long they will last. they usually last up to 1 to 2 months ATLEAST........don't get them done at bamboo nails tho cuz they mess them up big time....go to like elite nails or somewhere else.

Good Luck..........hope they turn out how you want
Generally theres 3 kinds. The cheap ones you buy at like Wal Mart. Acyrillic, which are nice but a pain in the butt if you wan't them off. Then gel nails. Theres different types of gel nails, Bio-Sculpture is the best gel. They look real and come off in 2 seconds with no nail damage if you decide you don't want them.

Oh and acyrillic is BRUTALY damaging to your nails. Its horrible. I don't suggest them. But they are cheaper then gel.
ive never had them done in a salon so i dont know about that but the ones you put on yourself can actually look quite good if you take your time putting them on. they will stay on about 2 weeks but its best to take them off after about 10 days to avoid damaging the surface of your nails. to remove them just soak them in a shallow bowl of acetone based nail varnish remover. [=
i got some Gel Nails yesterday and they are awesome...

i was told they were better than acrylics and they do look much better as my friends has acrylics and she is about to go get hers changed cause mine look way better...

ive been told that i need to get them filled every two or three weeks to keep them looking nice...

i also had a french polish put on with some nail art...they look awesome...just make sure that you look at them properly before you leave as i noticed a slight imperfection before i left and the girl fixed it right up...
    acrylic and gel

both last about 3 weeks before u need a fill. runs 25-35.00

    go with the gel!

    EDIT:

acryclic is the actual nail and thats it. Gel is the acrylic underneath and they add gel on top, gives it shiny gorgeous coat that last longer, for about 5 bucks extra
if they are the ones that you want permanently ( a month or 2) those kind usually stay on 4 the period u want but if u r just useing them 4 a week or a special occasion they stay on 4 about a week if u take good care of them
there are gel kind i think and commonly found acrylic

my nails stayed on for about a month but it depends wat u do like if you work with them do activities with you fingers so it all depends i hope u have fun =]
After 2.5 weeks, acrylic nails begin to look really shoddy. Be prepared for a touch up every two weeks. The $$$ really adds up after a few months.
im not really for fake nails because if it breaks off..... it hurts like a motha******!!! But it is your choice if you want fake nails. Im just givin ya a heads up.
there are acrylic and gel.. i like acrylic.. i think they are cuter.. they both last about a month then you need to get them filled..
Their own only one kind They can last a week or 2 weeks depends on how much wear and tear you put on them.
    acrylic and gel.

they last around 3 weeks and then you need to get them filled! :]
there are 2 kinds and last for a week. hth
there is prob short and long ones and dif colors i believe

    Contacts with Fake Nails?

If you get them long fake nails is it real hard to put contacts in or take them out? Like i know its gonna be hard but is it doable? Please let me know...???Contacts with Fake Nails?
Yes it is so difficult! Cut your nails or don't use contacts!Contacts with Fake Nails?
I just brought some contacts today and i have fake long nails

and its easy to put them in... I didn't take them out yet

but use the back of your finger w/o your nail touching your

    eye..

    take your time!

it isn't really hard at all..
it is harder, but it is still doable. but if you have problems with touching your eyes, i wouldnt do it. you could really hurt yourself. i dont have those problems, so it was a piece of cake for me

    hope i helped ! :}
It is doable, what I do if I have them long is wash my hands and then put saline on my finger before I take them out then the lens sticks to my finger so I don't pull the nail over my eye
Just use the tip of your fingernail
i wouldn't know, but i'd assume that they just turn their finger sideways!!

    Help with fake nails???

any tips? and any tips on putting them on?Help with fake nails???
Fake nails, especially the ones you buy in pharmacies, never work. They either fall off or just look silly. A regular manicure - neat nails with a pretty polish - always look a thousand times better.Help with fake nails???
k well always make sure to cut your nails before you put the fake nails on and take off any nail polish that you have on.

i wouldnt really suggest putting fake nails by yourself cause they dont stick well and they fall off like after 2 days.

go to like a nail place and get it done there(:

    live with your natural nails
    just grow your nails
You sound sensitive and highly allergic. I have a mom like that too, so I think its best not to try anything artificial. Have you thought about just trying a vitamin to try to strengthen your natural nails and/or just go in for regular manicures to keep up your nails.
just try growing yours... you can get ur real nails done... and its much cheaper than fakes...

  • I got fake nails and......?

the glue that came with it wouldnt come out im just wonderin can i use super glue im gettin really mixed up between yes or no ive heard both answersI got fake nails and......?
I've used super glue with my fake nails before.

In all honesty, it seems the same as regular nail glue.I got fake nails and......?
Um.... well first I wouldn't use fake nails in the first place because they wreck your nails and when you take them off your nails will be dry, weak and have bits off glue all over them. But answering your question I wouldn't I think super glue is too strong and might rip your whole nail off (maybe.... I dunno)

    Good Luck

    Fake Nails?

If you put on fake nails do they damage your natural nail when you take them off??Fake Nails?
yes all types and kinds of fake nails will damage your nails and make them more brittle. When you put a cover over your nail you are decreasing the amount of oxygen your nail bed is getting, which decreases nail growth. Also when you take the nails off, MOST people rip the nail off, which actually rips of tons of layers of your nail. However you can make it less damaging in some ways, if you go to a salon that does artificial nails, make sure they do NOT use the electric drill on your NATURAL nail, using it on the artificial one will not do any damage. And when taking the nail off, if it is acrylic, you can soak it in acetone, which you can by from any drug store, the dollar store even. The nails will dissolve in the acetone. Wash your hands after and buff out the rough spots. If you have a gel based nail you must file the nail off, making sure you do not file in to the natural nail bed. Buff the nail after wards. And always use a nail strengthener after.Fake Nails?
No, fake nails do not damage your nails. If you pick, rip, pry or bite your fake nails off then yes you will damage your nails.
yes they do beacuse of the filing a chemicals used.
Don't go to any salons that are not owned by Americans. There are a lot of Asian owned salons in my area and they use the super harsh chemicals that can damage your nails and cause chemical burns on your fingers.

If you walk into a salon and see everyone wearing face masks, this is another bad sign. Walk right back out.

If you feel any pain at all while they are putting the nails on, tell the technition, it shouldn't hurt at all.

I wore nails for 4 years and took them off about a year and a half ago and my nails are just fine!
Yes, I quite wearing fake fingernails about 4 months ago and my nails just starting healing. It made them very thin and turned them yellow. They looked like they weren't connected to my finger anymore in some places. I will never wear them again. They were expensive and I broke them constantly. I tried several different nail ladies and they all broke easily. You have to be a stay at home woman who doesn't clean if you want to keep them on and looking nice. You can't do anything or you'll break them. Waste of money, go shoppinh instead.
    nope they dont

    and..

please dont call me a sicko
I think they're such a waste of money, they make them look thin, and your nails break easily. and it leaves cracks in your nails, and they look horrible, well It's up to you, their your nails, if you take care of them they should be fine, when I used to get nails put on I'd get them repaired whenver I want them them off. I just get them painted :)
Yes they rip off your real nails They make then very brittle and dry your nails arent as beautiful as before but that is only if you leave them on for a long period of time or if you constantly put them on again.

    Should I get fake nails?

    Definitely not.

They're incredibly messy to put on. Every time I get them, the glue gets all over my fingers, and it's hard to put just the right amount of glue on the fake nails, so you either get too much and it overflows, making a huge mess, or you don't get enough on and it doesn't stick.

They look so fake. Everyone will be able to tell that you have fake nails, and that's not the point. You want your nails to look naturally pretty, and fake nails don't do that.

They're a pain and very annoying to live with once they're on. You can't tie your shoes, you can't button up your shirt or pants, it's hard to type correctly and quickly on a keyboard, you constantly scratch yourself with them, and just about anything involved with your fingertips is pretty much hard to do.

They fall off too easily. The day after you get them on, usually one has already fallen off. Then when you glue it back on, it looks really bad and really messed up. If you accidentally smack your fingernails against anything, you can bet that at least one of the nails will pop right off and you'll have to go through the hassle of glueing it back on. Heck, once when I simply poked someone, the nail fell off.

They're very damaging to your nails. Once all of the nails are taken off, your nails will be dry, brittle, peeling, thin, and damaged. Some of the glue stays on and doesn't come off for a while, either. Your real nails will be ruined by fake nails.Should I get fake nails?
I personally think fake nails look tacky and cheap. But, if you decide to get them you should get the ones you put on yourself, they are way cheaper and they look the same as the ones you get in a salon. : )Should I get fake nails?
fake nails now, fake nose next
personally i think any woman with nice looking finger nails is not only attractive to look at but sensual nd sexi a natural turn on makes u dream of where they could ne used for GO FOR IT
I got fake nails and they ruined my real ones. After I got the fake ones off my real nails were even thinner and more brittle than they were before I had them done. Oh and you can also get infections from having fake nails, thank god that never happened to me. But hey, if it's something you want go for it, I just hope it turns out better for you than it did for me.
well fake nails do look nice, but they can mess up your normal nails. if i were you i would just get a manicure.
    no

    i hate them!!

    but if u want 2....
if you rlly want them then why not? theyre very pretty and easy to take off!
personally i don't like them.. they make my real nails feel thin and yucky.. id rather have healthy real nails..

go for it tho.. theyre deff cute : )
    Yea Go Girl

    Nice 1s tho :S
if you want, i mean it wouldnt harm anyone in doing so, plus i think they look cute!
    No.
If you don't want to grow out your nails because it takes forever, then yes. I'm in the same boat as you. But my mom won't let me get them :[ I really want them though. And if you do get them, make sure they arent the cheap kind that fall off your nails in an hour.

How do you get fake nails OFF!?

I got my nails done recently and I want them off now! I had them for a long time and they are starting to grow, so you can see my real nail and it looks gross. HOW DO I GET THESE OFF? I didn't do them myself, one of those nail people did it. Please help?!How do you get fake nails OFF!?
Go back to the salon and have them take them off. How do you get fake nails OFF!?
you can get them ';filled in'; and the person will add new layers to cover your nails and clip off your nails underneath and make it look nice. You don't have t get them off just cause the nail is showing.but if you want to, you have to go to the nail place and they soak your nails in there for about an hour in a chemical before it comes off, so don't try it at home because you will be in pain if you try to pull them off.
Hey rachelle in heels cd whatever. You are wrong dude. The proper term is NOT false, or fake nails. It is 'nail enhancements.' Learn the proper terminology before you come on here and try to tell people about something you obviously know very little about. Also, you said 'original' nails. What are those? The term to use is 'natural' nails. And less damaging to your 'false' nails? What do you do? Save them or something? Wow...

Now, to answer your question, sorry!

You need to soak your nails in 100% pure acetone. No, hot water is not going to do anything to remove them, and nail polish remover - with acetone, is simply not strong enough to dissolve the acrylic. True, it will work, but the proper way is to use pure acetone. BTW, acetone is acetone no matter where you buy it. You can get it at home depot, or in a beauty supply store - it is still the exact same chemical. Its just labeled differently, but it is still pure acetone. There is nothing special about the pure acetone you buy in drug stores and so on. Like I said, it's the same thing as home depot or lowe's pure acetone.
You can take off fake nails yourself... however, it's always better going to a professional salon, what will surely give you the right treatment.

    1. Get a nail clippers and cut your nails as far as you can.

    2. File off any gel or topcoat on your nails to the acetone works better.

    3. Soak cotton balls in the acetone solution.

    4. Lay one soaked cotton ball over each of your fingernails. If you don't have enough, do a few at a time and soak the cotton balls in the solution again and repeat for the nails that did not get removed.

    5. Put some tape or foil around your nails to keep the cotton ball in place. Keep it there for 20 minutes to make sure that the process works.

    6. After the full time has passed, gently peel the tape off.

    7. Scrape the nail off with an orangewood stick.

    8. Buff off the residue with a nail buffer.

    9. Rub lotion on immediately, since acetone is so strong of a chemical. Your hands will dry out so apply oils and/or lotions frequently.

    First off,

    you'll need:

a bowl (big enough to fit your fingers)

    acetone/very strong nail polish remover.

You start by dipping your nails into the bowl with the nail polish remover inside, leave it in there until they melt (nails will soon come off because all the glue under is melted by the nail polish remover)..

Try to keep it as long as possible.. try picking them off after 5 minutes or when they feel softer.

    xx
Adding to the solution re the inquiry that you, plus one comment...

You are attempting to remove FALSE nails and NOT FAKE Nails... There is a difference.. False is a more subtle word as versus FAKE..

Do you know people who have FALSE teeth or FAKE teeth...? And if people gain access / trust etc under ';bogus'; pretenses are they there under FALSE pretense or FAKE pretense..... See what I mean...?

Now for the removal of FALSE nails, as many suggested, soak your fingers in Acetone nail polish remover..

I can fully concure with this as I'm a c/d - t/v and it's VERY OFTEN - Nails on - Nails off and this is the quickest method, and the less damaging to both original nails, and a set of false ones..

    Enjoy,

    Regards,

    Rachelle In High Heels
What I did was soften them with nail polish remover,

Then I went around the edges and slowly shifted them

So as not to break the nail or scratch it,

But just enough to start moving it around.

Eventually, they will be very movable and will either slide off

Or you can pry them up gently.

    Hope I helped! =D

Oh and I have a question for anyone who knows science.

    Thanks!
The best, safest way is to go back to the shop where you got them and have them take them off.

If you're going to insist on doing it yourself, soak them in acetone. Don't pry or pull. That will just rip your real nails off. They are thin enough as it is at this point. You don't want them any thinner or more damaged.
You need to soak them in nail polish remover for a long time. Then use the tip of a nail file to pop them off. It will probably hurt and you need to be very careful or you will damage your nails. The safest way is to go back to the nail place and ask for them to be removed. There is a fee like $10.
go back to the nail place cause they take them off for you.

you can soak them in nail polish remover

um keep the nails till they grow cause eventually the fake nail will slide off.(my mom did that and it worked)

dont rip them off cause you will be in terrible pain
Buy acetone which they sell at cvs put it in a old bowl that you would never use again. Then heat it up in the microwave for 20 sec. Put both hands in bowl and put a towel over hands to keep in heat. Then the nails will dissolve. In between wash hands to get off excessive acrylic then put them back in bowl until removed. This is the fastest way. NAIL POLISH REMOVER WON'T GET THEM OFF SINCE IS DOESNT HAVE ACETONE.
The best way to do it is to have the salon remove them.

However, applying nailpolish remover around the edges may loosen it up.

Dipping them in COLD COLD COLD water for a while can help also, they may fall right off! Water is a must when trying to remove them!

Then the best way I found was to get them off, was put them in water, and put my nail underneath the edge and pop them off.

    Good Luck! :]

    Answer mine please!: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnjivEevXW2KNrk_lwNR.d_sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080905193231AAHG95X
er try getting one of those fake nail removing kits from a beauty store near you. Or you could maybe try soaking ur nails in hot water for a while. i dunno jus file ur real nails down a bit or sommet or go to the nail place and ask them fo advise.
soak them in nail polish remover,it takes a while. The acrylic will soften up and you can start filing it off. Dont try to just pry them off,it will ruin your real nails, and hurt pretty bad.

Make sure you use the kind with acetone
    Soak them in nailpolish remover.

I took mine of that way! I only had them on for a day or two. It took awhile; they soaked, and i had to pry them off then they soaked again.

It might sound harsh but it didnt really hurt. Just took awhile!
You can soak then in water for a while... Are they real? like you got them done at a proffesional place? Or are they just the kind that you can buy?
Buy Tips B Gone Acrylic and Artifical Nail Remover found at WalMart. Soak your nails in the solution until they get soft then you rub them off with a paper towel. It will take a long time, but it works.
I used nail polish remover and if that doesn't work, go and try and find a fake nail remover at the drugstore.
stick your nail in between the corner of the fake and the real nail and just 'pry off'.

    be careful.
    use finger nail polish remover

but make sure u get the kind that says it has acetone in it

    the bottle will say it

cuz the other kind really wont work

    = )
soak them in nail polish remover, itll soften the acrylic.. dont go to the salon , they cut them and rip them off.. ouch lol
Soak them in nail polish remover that contains acetone
    sandpaper
soak them in nail polish remover and try to gently massage them off. it might hurt a little but if you do it well, they should come off easily
try soaking your nails in acetone for 10 mins or so... if that doesnt work, then go back to the people who did them, and have them take it off
Soke them in nail polish remover until they come off, or will peel off easily
Soak them in nail polish remover and kinda pry them off with a cuticle pusher
run them under HOT water for about 2 minutes and then they will start to peel ofby themselves... but u have to help them...
    soak in hot water,

take a hot shower and while ur in there,

snap your nails while they get soft.

Soak them in nail polish remover.
you have to soak them in nail polish remover .

How do you take fake nails off?

i've had these fake nails on for over a week, and i need to take them off because i have a cheerleading competition tomorrow, and it hurts when i stunt and stuff... my friend told me to soak them in rubbing alcohol?

any ideas? How do you take fake nails off?
Soak in hot water. The glue will be wet and your nails will slip off. I think, I never worn fake nails before. How do you take fake nails off?
your friend is right soak them in rubbing alcohol
You can certainly do the isopropyl alcohol. It does soften most of the false nails on the market to allow them to disolve. But honestly your best bet is to have them removed by the nail technician. You may end up peeling off delicate layers of the nail (I have on many occasions) which will leave your nail bed prone to bacteria and possible infection. You could also cut the tips off of your nails for the length that you need and allow them to grow out naturally. This will save time from soaking and will still allow you to compete comfortably tomorrow. Having them completely removed may leave delicate tissue, and they have been known to ache afterwards. Good luck with both the nails and the competition!
    Soak them in acetone.
Your best bet is to go to any nail salon and have them remove the nails for you.
    soak them in polish remover
what i usually do is clipp them down and then off when ever u want, it becomes easier to take them of or when u have clipped them small they probably wont bother u.
Soak them in rubbing alcohol for an hour (while your watching TV or something) and every 10 minutes wiggle them a little to loosen it up. They should be able to come off easier that way. Or you can go back to the place you got them done and they will take them off for you.
    thats retarded.

no don't soak them in rubbing alcohol.

    soak them in acetone.
You can soak them in nailvarnish remover %26amp; this will ease them off, then in hot water.

    Acrylics///Fake Nails////Whatever you call them....?

So, i have normal length nails... i used to get my nails done all the time until i got poor and just didnt have time anymore haha.

but one of my nails, my left pointer finger....fell off and its still like in the process of growing back, it like chipped off towards tha bottom, next to the cuticle, and then i jus kinda kept pulling and tugging at it haha bad choice but hey

is it a bad idea to get acrylics on top of that one pointer finger???? Should i let that one finger grow out or wat?(tha nails u get done @ like a nail place, that are kind of fake, but not like glue on ones....acrylics.)Acrylics///Fake Nails////Whatever you call them....?
No. Fake nails encourage fungus to grow underneath them. You could get a serious fungal infection if your nailbed is exposed. And, if left untreated, it could get into your bloodstream and cause even more problems besides the nasty yellow fungus nails.Acrylics///Fake Nails////Whatever you call them....?
Most nail salons will not put an acrylic nail on skin, I suggest you wait until it grows out, and dont get glue on nails, you would be putting super glue on your skin, imagine trying to take that off... OUCH!!
hey hon. if you injurred your nailbed, and it hasnt grown out a normal length...noone in their right mind from a nail salon is going to do an acrylic for you. it could get infected. it's best to let it grow back out naturally. i have mine done. after so long, my nail beds have weakened, and my natural nails are so thin when they grow out, they break off and hurt sooo bad. plus if you get a fake one on there and accidentally rip it off, you're very likely to do a considerable amount of damage to that nail. just let it grow out. if it is embarassing, keep a bandaid over it until it looks good again!
I would let it grow out or get the glue on's
I would just let your nail(s) grow out. I used to get acrylics a lot and they ruined my real nails. The best thing to do is let your real nails grow and look for a place that will do an acrylic overlay. It's still your nails they don't file them down or anything like they do for regular acrylic nails. That's what a nail technician suggested I do.

    Hope this helped :)

Ladies, fake nails on guys? HELP!!!?

I lost a bet and have to go get all my nails done in red for a few days. Im supposed to make them longer too. I really have no idea of what to ask for and slightly embarassed walking into a place. how long do they make the nails?

how easy is it to get fake nails off and what is the best type between acrylic and gel? I have to go to a salon and get them done there unfortunatelyLadies, fake nails on guys? HELP!!!?
    Well....uh...um........

I'm not sure how long they make them..I guess it depends.

HA HA HA ! WHAT!!? you're friends and you are crazy what kind of bet is that? Any ways don't get them too long cus you wont be able to WIPE

back stage... lol. And it's very hard to take them out so tell the person that does you're nail's to not put to much acrylic that's the power fill they put on. Don't let her do them too thick either. Good Luck!
    go in act gay and say ';UMM hiiiiii I want red acrillic nails please';

    its simple jsut act normal

    GOOD LUCK!!!

they stay on for a about a week and u can go get them taken off when ever u want and its hard to get them off by urself but easy by someone else(like a perfessional I mean not like ur friend)

HEHE GOOD LUCK!! SEND ME PICS!!!!!! =P
Wow, an expensive bet. Just tell them not too long and ask for acrylic. If you want to embarrass your friend who you lost the bet to, you can have them write his name on your nails in another color. ;D
    haha yuck

    Fake nails or real nails?

Which is better/prettier?Fake nails or real nails?
It really depends on you. For me I tried having them on but my hands are so sensitive that they were sore for over a week. Now I know they are sore right after that. But not for that long. Then I ended up having fungus. BUT that does not happen all the time. I have tried different places but the out come is the same for me. I would try getting a manicure first. See how that goes I grow my nails out and they are cheaper than spending 20-30 dollars to start then every two weeks spending 15 dollars. Manicures cost 10-15 dollars and they come with a hand massage that is well worth it. They paint your nails too. So there are a few pros and cons think about it and check out the prices. Good luck I hope I have been some help.Fake nails or real nails?
Real. Fake are gross, in my opinion. And can look tacky...
well for special ocasion i like fake nails and on a daily base real nails
I think fake are really pretty but not worth the damage they do to your nails. So I would have to say REAL.
I prefer real. I think that most of the time, no matter how real someone thinks their fake nails look, they don't. You can tell that they're fake, and if you're not careful, they can easily cross the line into being tacky. Also, the damage they do is terrible.
both can look nice. I like the look of gel nails, but real nails can look great too if you take care of them.
Real i had fake nails for a week they are such a bother. I have very pretty real nails. They are long and shaped just like fake nails lol. i also have long fingers
I like the fake nails, I get them done by a guy, he does a wonderful job. they arent thick, they look so natural. I always get pink or white.
    show that natural beauty
Natural Nails are healthier for you and usally look better.
Fake nails, not only cuz they look prettier, they arent as sharp as real nais, so when she digs her nails in my back....
Riddle me that?! I fluctutate between the two all the time. I love the acrylics... but they are so expensive. I love my real nails, but polish won't stick to them... I think it's a no win situation!
fake nails retain bacteria and are somewhat gross
For sure real nails. You always see those ugly plastic nails that are hideous, so please use you real nails. You look much more elegant with real nails, a bit longet than your finger tips in a french manicure.

Fake nails and hair color while pregnant...?

I'v been told they are really bad to do when your pregnant..anyone have anything bad happen from getting one or the other done?? what do you think about it?Fake nails and hair color while pregnant...?
My doctor has advised me not to do either. The chemicals from the nails can cause adverse affects with the baby. You also carry a lot of bacteria underneath your finger nails so when the baby is born you have to worry about that.

Dying your hair while pregnant is not a good idea for 2 reasons. 1. is your hormones are out of wack, my friend tried to dye her hair black it came out reddish-pink. 2. is the chemicals aren't proven to go through your scalp but it's possible and that alone is bad for your baby, mixed in with the chemicals again is even worse.

Try not to any of it, especially in the first trimester.Fake nails and hair color while pregnant...?
I have the same concern! I wouldn't risk doing either just incase. That baby is so precious!
I did my hair with my first nothing happened or wrong..and i color my hair with my second.I use fans so i wont breath much in
I don't know about the nails, but dieing your hair is bad while your pregnant because the chemicals could harm the baby.
its not bad to get done after the first trimester. However if you work in a salon or a nail salon you are sometimes told to take leave because of the constant exposure to chemicals. I would just wait until after 3 months
I get my nails done every 2 weeks. As long as the smell of the chemicals doesn't make you sick, you're good to go! and it makes you feel better to be pampered every once in a while :)
Mainly just the fumes in the nail shop are irritating. Don't know about fake hair, but I dyed my hair all thru my pregnancies. Many women do spend their pregnancies with their hair and nails done.
I'm not sure how safe they are - you should ask your doctor about that - but hormonal changes in pregnancy can make your hair react pretty wacky to hair dyes. What might normally turn out brown can come out neon orange, for example
I disagree with the first answer. Hair color is fine. I am a hair stylist and i am around the fumes all day everyday. The dr told me it was fine as long as it is a well ventilated area. I would stay away from bleach on the scalp though.
my sister is a hairstylist and she said it is fine to get hair colored as long as the dye doesnt contain ammonia. I am not sure about nails... but i cant imagine it being an issue as there is nothing getting into your skin.
nails no perfectly fine to do, i asked my dr and i get mine done all the time, hair coloring on the other hand no way , the smell is so bad for u dont do it

Fake nails when you got contacts..?

Im gonna get my nails done this weekend, getting them long fake nails put on, and i was wondering if its possible to still put my contacts in and take em out wit the nails. Does it hurt real bad? is it still doable? thanksFake nails when you got contacts..?
i dont have fake nails but mine are pretty long.. u cant use the point of ur finger to put it on but once u get used to putting it on differently it doesnt hurtFake nails when you got contacts..?
Does not the word ';FAKE'; have bad connotations .? Does not the word ';false'; have a ';softer'; overture to it....

Does one have false teeth or FAKE teeth...? Think about it...!!!! And one wears false eyelashes and not FAKE eyelashes.. False impressions as versus FAKE impressions..

    THERE is a difference..

Which type of fake nails are better...?

The ones from the store that you glue on or the ones that you get from the store that you like push on?

Which ones are better and last longer?Which type of fake nails are better...?
The better ones out of the two are the ones that you glue on. Keep in mind that they are difficult to take off should you change your mind. But the best ones that you can buy are the ones that are professionally done, which will last the longest. You'll notice the difference! And, if you work it out, it is not that expensive, depending on where you get them done, and you can shop around for the infills.Which type of fake nails are better...?
It is better for you to go to the nail salon and have them do them. It will last longer and look better. Of course if you don't want to go that route get the ones that you glue on. They will have a better chance of staying put then the push on ones.
THE ONE'S U GLUE ON ARE BETTER BECAUSE THEY LAST LONGER THEN THE ONE'S THAT U PUSH ON THEY FALL OUT REALY QUICK

  • Fake nails 4 cats?

i heard about those fake nails that you glue on your cat but are they good and how do they work?Fake nails 4 cats?
They are actually caps that go over the nail..it's a nice option if you don't want your cat to go through surgery.Fake nails 4 cats?
Depriving your cat of the functionality of its claws is like being a mountaineer and getting your fingers removed. Think of it. What the ';nails'; are to your cat is much more than your nails are to you. It's your cats fingers and hands. A human mountaineer would to fine without his nails, but not a climbing cat. Talk to you vet about your problem. The solution is in telling your cat where not to scratch or sharpen its claws, and get yourself a scratching post.
IT DOESN'T SOUND GOOD......I DON'T THINK THERE GOOD FOR PEOPLE EITHER.
Please DON'T use these. They work for the first few weeks, but after that, they start to grow out. Our cat was a scratcher and when she tried to scratch a chair, she got caught. The following day, she got caught in the carpet. If we had not been there, who knows what would have happened. We ended up having her de-clawed anyway. I feel that declawing saved our relationship with her. After a week or so, she was just fine and is very happy and healthy member of the family.

If you can find a way to get the softpaws off of the cat, then they might work. I could have the cat that is the exception to the rule!! Just think of them as the same type of fake fingernails we use and what a pain it is to have them filled every few weeks or having them taken off and put on again. I feel the pain we put Kaci thru for the surgery was alot less replacing the nails each month.

    Hope that helps!!!
i use them, they are called soft claws. they are great and i don't even think my cat notices. everything you need to know about them is here:

    www.softclaws.com

and they come in fun colors that make it fun for use and look really cute.
Soft Claws are the humane alternative to de-clawing. They can last a couple of months, or if your cat REALLY hates them, a couple of days. Depending on how experienced and skilled the person attaching the soft claws are, the longer they should last.

    Thank you for not de-clawing.

How to take fake nails off?

i wear acrylic nails all the time , wen i get ready to take them off i always start by taken my nails clippers and cuttin down to wear my real nail starts, it seems to loosen them upHow to take fake nails off?
you can cut them down and soak them in pure actone (nail polish remover) or there's this stuff at walmart called ';nails be gone'; (in a blue bottle, near the nail polish section) that works to and they will eventually fall off if you soak them long enough but, after soaking them you can pry them off with a nail file, it does hurt just a little but not to bad. good luck. How to take fake nails off?

    Fake nails?

anyone put on fake nails at home or in the salon? which is beter and how should i ask my parrents if i can use them?Fake nails?
Definitely go to a salon. I would start with a natural look maybe a french tip. It would be more than likely that your parents would be open to that rather than something extreme. If they arent feeling the fake nails, ask just to get acrylic over your natural nails..after two or three weeks they will be just as long as fake nails (and as strong) and your parents will probably be cool with it too.Fake nails?
I've put on the glue on ones at home but the salon nails are supposed to be much better. The best thing to do would be to say you want them done for an upcoming special occasion to ease them into the idea, then afterwards just keep getting your nails done. They might not like it if you go for the ultra long false nails so make sure you don't get theose claws that you can't type, write or do anything with. Keep it short to long-ish.
well the salon is better, bout askin ur parents, just ask the worst they could say is no.

I have tryed EVERYTHING how do i get fake nails my parents wont let me....?

Do you mean where can you get them or how can you get your parents to let you? Fake nails are unhygenic and passe anyway. Take good care of your natural ones and do a home manicure.I have tryed EVERYTHING how do i get fake nails my parents wont let me....?
i wouldnt even try to get htem they ruin your nails so badly. i started wearing them at 13 and i am now 18 i still wear them because my nails are to weak and when i take the off my nails look horriable. plus i also learned all the disgusting things that you can get by wearing them all the infections and funguses you can get. take it from a cosmetologist there is nothing good aboutwanting fake nails your parents are makeing a good decision just think about what i have told you youll change your mindI have tryed EVERYTHING how do i get fake nails my parents wont let me....?
buy a nail's kit in sally's... tell ure parents u will do ure nails by yourself.... and then you can do ure mom's nails and she will be happy with u =D
i got mine like a month ago. but its kind of hard to get used to them bc they are sort of long, and you have to be very careful not to get mold in them. try convincing them by getting a ';test drive'; for a month, then mabe youll get them more than once.

if that doesnt work grow your real nails out, just keep them clean and put clear nail polish over them.
THere are those kits you can buy at drug stores but they appear cheap. Maybe try to have your fake nail look natural, do not make they super long. Paint a solid color nail polish over the fake ones because if you do french then it will really look fake. THe downside of fake nails is that if you where they same ones for a long time they make your actually nails thin and flakely. So then try a nail- hardening nail treatment. Good luck withtricking the parents. :)
If you have a Dashing Diva salon in your area, ask your parents to let you go there for a special occasion. They can basically put press-on nails in a professional manner, and they're super cheap and don't mess up your nails. I got some put on before I went on vacation to Hawaii, and they lasted the whole trip. The only problem I had with them was that on one of my nails, I got a yellowish tinge that lasted for about a week. This was caused by constantly being in the water and the sand, and the water and sand got trapped between the fake nail and the real nail. It was no biggie though, and I really had fun with them.

I think it cost $20 to put them on, and they lasted for over a week. Rather than getting fill ins every 2 weeks like with other fake nails, you just get completely new nails put on. The cost comes out cheaper, and like I said, they don't mess up your real nails.

Maybe you can convince your parents to let you do that- it's cheap, and you don't HAVE to keep getting fake ones put on- you can stop any time.

    Good luck!
If you want fake nails that badly ask your parents why they won't let you have them, and then reason with them. But be mature about it. If you're not mature about it, you don't need fake nails.
Don't wear fake nails. It looks very tacky and trashy, even if you get them done professionally. Try keeping them short and rounded with a dark polish on them. It'll look very chic and up to the minute.

My nails break, is there a solution to harden them? i dont want to put fake nails.?

I used to have soft, peeling nails so I stopped using a nail clipper and only use a nail file to shape and shorten them. I also started protecting my nails with thicker moisturizers to protect them from exposure to water which dries them out %26amp; makes them brittle.

I read somewhere that nail clippers can cause the layers of the nail to separate and filing is the best way to go.

I started with Revlon's disposable files made for weak nails. File in one direction only. Start on one side and file towards the middle, then go to the other side and file towards the middle of your nail. Smooth the nail into a squoval that mirrors you cuticle or the shape of the white part of your nail bed.

Finish the edges of the nail with a hindo stone, a smooth ceramic/stone nail file or the finest grit nail file you can find. You want to make the edges really smooth.

Revlon makes a tool that should work. It is a pink half moon shape and you can run it under/across the nail from side to middle.

(I have an old hindo stone but haven't been able to find a replacement at a local store. The Revlon tool might be easier for you to find.)

Also, avoid using metal nail files. I recommend using disposable nail files and changing them frequently. The fresher the grit, the less the drag which leads to tearing and peeling.

Some people swear by glass nail files but they can shatter if dropped.

I also use a cuticle balm or nail oil to moisturize my nails and protect them from water since I wash my hands frequently.

    (ex. Solar Oil, OPI Avoplex)

Vit E oil, jojoba oil, Aquaphor Healing Ointment, Vaseline or plain Chapstick will work too.

Avoid products w/ formaldehyde or toluene, they are very hard on nails. My nails break, is there a solution to harden them? i dont want to put fake nails.?
hi, i tried putting extracts of garlic on my nails or i rub the garlic itself on it as advised by the olds. It worked with me and thickened / hardened my nails after a week. It might be good for your nails, too. You may do it as often as you want.

good luck!My nails break, is there a solution to harden them? i dont want to put fake nails.?
Your hair and nails are like the waste of nutrients of your body, everything your body doen't need at that time, so if you are eating healthy you should have good nails and good hair. You better check what you are eating. Garlic is the best thing you can use to harden your nail, you can buy at any store cleat nail polish of garlic, the smell is not that good, but it works.
OPI Nail Envy will help strengthen your nails... also, drink more milk and/or eat gelatin. You can add a teaspoon of unflavored gelatin to a glass of juice every day and drink that; it should help.

Remember that it's going to take a while to strengthen up your nails... you'll have to grow off the weak part of the nail before you see the results.
    calcium intake orallly
if you look at any store who sells nail polish, you can find nail strengthening polish in just about any color =)
Buy a nail strengthener. And some come in tints if you want a little color. Also when your nail rips a little but you don't want to cut it off get a nail sealer, like Sally Hansen's Hard As Nails: Hard As Wraps
There is nail strengthening nail polish you can buy at any store.
Avon has a length and strength complex that I use and I swear by...it makes my nails grow like crazy and makes them so strong.
I just keep nail polish on my nails and they dont break
Start by incorporating a B-vitamin (B complex) into your daily intakes -- that'll strengthen your nails -BIGTIME ! And stay away from the fakes for a while -- not good for you. (I know this from various girlfriends...ok ok I know from experience...lol)

Put your fingers in hot warm water and take them off while the nails are in the hot water...it might hurt a little bit.How to take out fake nails?
Soak them in warm acetone, its pretty cheap at any beauty supply store a drug store or Walmart has it as well.

Be careful when warming it, I use the microwave and a plastic bowl. I do 45 secs at a time. Takes about a hour

    cost about $5
The easiest way with the best results is go back to the salon and get them taken off. Its under 10 dollars and its the only way your nails won't get messed up. I usually rip mine off, but it hurts and they look bad after.
Soak your hands in warm water, they will begin to fall off. Don't just try to rip them off, that will damage and weaken your nails.
    soak them in hydrogen peroxide.

I have these fake french manicure nails that you glue onto your nails or I have nailpolish. what is better? and what nailpolish color? they fake nails are really pretty but they are annoying sometimes!Good nailpolish color vs. fake nails?
AVOID fake nails! My mum got them and they messed up her nails so badly, not only did she cry when they came off, but she got a fungal nail infection afterwards. They weakened her nails and damaged them really badly

go for polish with a clear underneath and on top :DGood nailpolish color vs. fake nails?
im not sure what polish color i mean its your choice but i do know that OPI is very awesome on staying on your nails. i only use that brand.
    huh
OPI, Malaga Wine, 2 Coats with 1 Coat of Clear OPI Varnish.............beautiful!
i personally like nail polish better............i think u should get a metallic blue (that is a pretty color on everyone)
Personally, I like natural nails with some clear polish!
i would go with the nailpolish.

sure, the fake ones look nice, but i think they're too much hassle, especially when going on vacation :)

    have fun!
I think you should do the polish. That way you dont have to be so careful wondering if your nails will break. If you want the french manicure you can go to any store and get a french manicure set. Thats what I use and it works good.

How do u get fake nails off (10 pts for rite answer)?

answerHow do u get fake nails off (10 pts for rite answer)?
Lucky for you, I have a magazine explaining! I'll copy here what it says:

Soak fingernails in a tub of acetone (about 15 minutes for each hand). The magazine recommends ';Kiss All or One Artificial Nail Removal';, and it is 7 dollars. The plastic will become gummy and you will be able to wipe it off each nail. Your fingers may be pruny afterward, but your nails should appear no worse for the wear. The acetone you use to remove them isn't enough to permanently damage your nails. It's just drying, so you should moisturize a lot after using it. Do not try to take them off yourself by wiggling them! How do u get fake nails off (10 pts for rite answer)?
Are they the kind that are applied professionally? If so, there should be a remover that they either give you, or you can purchase.

If it's the sticker type, just run it under warm water.
you can do what all of these other people are saying but if you do then your nail will be seriously damaged.

you should just go to a salon and have them taken off

    it's only like 5 dollars

    hope i helped :)
soke em in acetoner 100% and after 15 mins take a nail file over them to remove the soften acrylic and then soke another 10 to 15 min and repeat until they r off:)
Run them under hot water to remove the glue. Then wiggle them around until the nails come off.
Nail polish remover made with acetone will do it. You just have to soak them for about an hour.
run under hot water and pull nails back and forth (left and right)

I USUALLY SOAK MY FAKE NAILS IN POLISH REMOVER FOR ABOUT A HALF OF A HOUR, THEN THE ACRYLIC WILL START LOOSEN UP AND YOU GOT TO PEEL THE FAKE NAILS OFF OF UR REAL NAILS.How do u get fake nails off?
    Hiya

All you need to do is buy some nail vanish remover. They do 2 sorts - stuff with Acetone in and stuff without Acetone.

You need to make sure you buy the nail vanish remover with Acetone in it. Its really cheap for a bottle of it.

Soak nails in a for a few minutes and they will come loose. Its actually what salons use to remove them.

    X
u put nailpolish remover and soak it then pry it off.
When you have fake fingernails you have to use non-acetate nail polish remover, because the acetate will eat the material that they are made of. When I removed my fake nails, I used regular nail polish remover, with acetate.

Can ne one tell me frm where do i get fake nails in inorth ndia???

You can go to any nail salon and get arcrylic done, or any walgreens, wal-mart, kmart, in the makeup section they should have the press on nails and all different desgins to choose from.

I was wondering if guys like it when girls have fake nails?

I think fake nails look gross. They look cheap and make girls look high maintainence and kinda ghetto.I was wondering if guys like it when girls have fake nails?
Some do %26amp; some don't...it isn't ALL guys that like them or not. It just depends on the guy %26amp; what he prefers.I was wondering if guys like it when girls have fake nails?
Majority of guys like to see the pretty nails I would say a lot of guys do like it.
No they actually look terrible. manicure your own!!!
Fake nails, along with well applied make-up and nice clothes are noticed and generally as long as they're not over the top they are appreciated by us men because it shows that you are willing to make an effort. The more natural ones are best I think, for me at least. As long as they are not too long and not covered with silly logos or other such. Plain colours or even clear varnish looks best.
    Oh yes. Many's the day I've kicked it with my posse at da club, when we'd say ';check out the manicure on that one.';
Most guys probably wouldnt notice the difference. I just dont like it when they are the really long ones. They just dont look natural. Kind of freakish looking. Maybe 1/2'; longer than your fingers is good.
    looks creepy :S

    sorry

    peace out :)
they look nice, but feel weird ( when you get scratched by them), plus they get nasty dirty if you don't keep up with them.

    Me, I hate them.

I'll take a natural girl anyday.

Plus it's a fast sign of a High maintance girl.
    it depends
Some guys like them... other don't. I keep mine very short, so most people assume they're natural anyway. Wearing acrylics helps me with my eczema (keeps the skin around my nails from cracking), so I've been wearing them for years. I've never met a guy who didn't like them... but, I think part of that is because I keep them short. I don't think it makes me high maintenence... it's the one thing I treat myself to every couple of weeks.
