if this is a bad oozy infection, yes, it needs immediate attention, but if its just a little pimple type , you can indeed treat it with an anti infection cream for toenails. or jock cream, like the one person said. they are basically the same thing...(hate to tell you, but even vagisil is the same basic cream)
AND will work!
its a fungus, go to walmart and buy a antifungal cream, just like the one they use for jock itch.
she needs to go to the doctors or the hospital right away......thAT IS VERY SEIOUS IT CAN GET WORSE

Do what I do and get a french manicure with your real nails. It feels much better than getting the fake nails anyway, and that's my excuse to go get pampered every week. It looks really good, especially when you start to go all the time and your real nails start to grow out. When they buff them instead of polish they look really good too.

Its better to listen to what your mom says but you can always use this tip: Each week, cut the sides of your nail but never the top, that way your nails will become long and you can have natural beautiful long nails. ;)
LISTEN TO HER! i used the fake acrylic nails and my nails will never look nice again. yes they are that damaged permanently. plus the horrible fungus that take a year to grow out, and the pain of pulling a nail off because the glue is so strong, and all the time and money wasted on refilling and removing, ugh! don't do it! try a nail growth polish, or press on nails that come off easily. besides. didn't you know? the natural look is in, no long clowny nails anymore in the fashion world. look at the girls who wear the fakes. do they do good in school? or do they do good with the guys? guys can wait till you have a career! use a clear polish and a white pencil to get the tips white like a french manicure--use the pencil underneath the tips. be classy and sophisticated, don't go for the trash look of red or whatever! besides, the only guys that like those long red nails are the ones that just want to use you and throw you away like garbage, and you are to good for that! LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER!!!! She is right! and so am I!

First of all, I have done expirements which proved beyond a doubt that all questions should be posted in this section. Basically my wife had some legitimate (non-religious) questions and I told her to post them here. She insisted on posting the the appropriate category as well.
Long story short, posting in the appropriate category results in few if any answers. On the other hand, R/S is FULL of people, so some of them are bound to know something about any subject.
To answer your original question, I am not a fan of long nails in general. And looking young is not a terrible thing, by any means.

I think they are trashy.
But that's just the kind of girl I am. I never paint my nails and I keep them really short. I'm also not a proper girl at all so you probably shouldn't listen to me at all. I mean really, I don't know how to put on makeup right and I have bad fashion sense.

Well, I guess I'm just sick and tired of people judging others because I knew everyone was going to say ';trashy';......
Here's the deal, very long dragon nails painted green with jewels embedded in them and even little rings does not scream ';mature individual'; HOWEVER if you really must have this style because you happen to like it or want to try it out than DO IT even though you know the majority of people think it's trashy. (what does trashy mean in relation to nails anyway?) Who cares?! Those same people are probably afraid to try new things and don't ';live'; their lives.
I like short nails myself.
Yeah the ones from the nail salons are getting trashier and the press-ons are getting fancier, so there's hardly a difference anymore. I think a French manicure looks good either way, although the nail salons will put the white part too low on the fingernail sometimes and it looks creepy.
I think it shows that a lady takes care of herself and takes pride in how she looks.
My wife gets hers done every other Saturday. There are times it is a real financial struggle but it makes her feel good and she is worth ever penny of it.
My wife prefers a french manicure, but every once in a while she will get a design on them.
I love it all as long as they don't look like Flo Joe's.
I've seen some I thought were nice. I'm not much into them for myself, though. The only fake nails I really don't like are the ones that are done with garish colors.
Enjoy your youthful looks. I just posted an answer in which I mentioned using honey as a facial to combat the signs of aging at forty-seven.

I'm thinking I need some nice fake nails to age me a bit. What do you think? Pretty or trashy?

First of all, I have done expirements which proved beyond a doubt that all questions should be posted in this section. Basically my wife had some legitimate (non-religious) questions and I told her to post them here. She insisted on posting the the appropriate category as well.
Long story short, posting in the appropriate category results in few if any answers. On the other hand, R/S is FULL of people, so some of them are bound to know something about any subject.
To answer your original question, I am not a fan of long nails in general. And looking young is not a terrible thing, by any means.

But that's just the kind of girl I am. I never paint my nails and I keep them really short. I'm also not a proper girl at all so you probably shouldn't listen to me at all. I mean really, I don't know how to put on makeup right and I have bad fashion sense.

Here's the deal, very long dragon nails painted green with jewels embedded in them and even little rings does not scream ';mature individual'; HOWEVER if you really must have this style because you happen to like it or want to try it out than DO IT even though you know the majority of people think it's trashy. (what does trashy mean in relation to nails anyway?) Who cares?! Those same people are probably afraid to try new things and don't ';live'; their lives.
I like short nails myself.
Yeah the ones from the nail salons are getting trashier and the press-ons are getting fancier, so there's hardly a difference anymore. I think a French manicure looks good either way, although the nail salons will put the white part too low on the fingernail sometimes and it looks creepy.
I think it shows that a lady takes care of herself and takes pride in how she looks.
My wife gets hers done every other Saturday. There are times it is a real financial struggle but it makes her feel good and she is worth ever penny of it.
My wife prefers a french manicure, but every once in a while she will get a design on them.
I love it all as long as they don't look like Flo Joe's.
I've seen some I thought were nice. I'm not much into them for myself, though. The only fake nails I really don't like are the ones that are done with garish colors.

In case you're wondering, I just think fake nails are fun to wear. I like tapping them on tables. Sometimes when I'm reading a book or magazine I can see people glancing at my nails or when I'm paying at a store the staff at the counter just gaze at them for a while.

I don't really know if it's safe to use it, but just to be on the safe side I would not! If you already did *gulp* try soaking your hands in hot water for a while and see if they become any looser. i'm trying to get my fake nails off and i've got them started, but i can't get them all the way off and it hurts so is there an easier way to get them off rather than just picking at them? i've already soaked them in warm water..Easy way to remove fake nails?
Soak em in nail polish remover. I try to suck it up and snap them off on the table side if I don't have much time, or get a special kind of glue that sticks well, but comes off easy when you soak em in somethin special.

Noo. they aren't bad for your health, they just destroy your nails when you get them taken off. I had them for 5 months, got them taken off and it took like 6 months for my nails to grow back to normal. They were all stubby and weak for a while.

Go to a nail place and have your nails done or have acrylics or tips with acrylic over-lay applied. You can get white tips which look clean or they can paint them for you. Most local places have specials for homecoming, etc. Call around and ask. Good luck.

You'll have a problem because it dries like super glue so It will dry like a little white and crusty. My advice if you have the money go get them professionally done.
Go get them done. They last longer, and the ones you glue on are actually more painful to use. Acrylics don't hurt because they are so tight on your nail. But they do take time to get used to.

I don't know,but i wouldn't wear fake nails. My friend new a girl that did that same thing for prom,and when she tried to take them off,it ripped her real nails off.

You'll have a problem because it dries like super glue so It will dry like a little white and crusty. My advice if you have the money go get them professionally done.
Go get them done. They last longer, and the ones you glue on are actually more painful to use. Acrylics don't hurt because they are so tight on your nail. But they do take time to get used to.

I never wore my nice rings because my hands were ugly, but a friend of mine is a beautician and she said my hands were only ugly because I didn't have nice nails (thats because they are so thin and would break off when they got longer than my finger tip). So I went in and got the nails put on and they look really natural and made my hands look longer and more graceful.........Now I can wear my rings and they look great.....Many people have commented on how nice my hands look and that makes me feel better about myself with all the complimentsWhat do you think of fake nails?
At a time I thought of buying some. I bit my nails so much I hardly had any and it made my hands look rather un-attractive. I then asked my friends and family to poke me really hard if they saw me biting my nails. It eventually worked and my nails are now naturally very white and I get compliments on them. I believe that if I had bought some I would have bought natural looking ones. I hate the long ones because they look so...fake =P .

Yes, you can have fake nails only if you make sure that those are not too long and claw-like nails. Also, you will have to remove them while you are performing Wudu(Ablution). You will also have to cover them in front of a non-mehram.
Most women nowadays have fallen into the trap of resembling savage animals with their long claw-like nails, which they then paint with nail polish. This ugly appearance looks utterly repulsive to any intelligent person whose fitrah is sound. Another bad habit that many people have is to leave one nail long. All of this is clearly contrary to the ways of the fitrah. We ask Allah to keep us safe and sound. Allah is the Guide to the Straight Path.

To make your wudu valid (which is a condition for a valid prayer and fast) the water should touch your real fingernails...

I have worn them on Eid al Adha after fadjr untill zuhr came and after isha untill i went to bed.. But i must say it was a bit messy with the glue. That afterwards i found it a waste of money and time (the glueing, the waiting, taking them off, cleaning).
So i advise don't start with it...

Yes there is a way to do it. If you have had them on for any length of time you need to be prepared because your natural nail will be very weak and you will need to put a hardener on it. I use to wear those and finally decided it was just too much of a hassle so I stopped and it took me at least 6 months to get my nails back to where they were not like paper .....
Things You鈥檒l Need:
* Plastic garbage bag
* Acetone polish remover
* Petroleum jelly
* Nail buffer
* Nail clippers
* Glass bowl
Step1
Find a good work area where you can sit down and be comfortable. A kitchen table works perfectly for this. Be sure to cover the surface of your table with a plastic garbage bags and a thick layer of newspaper to soak up spills and prevent damage to your table鈥檚 surface.
Step2
Get all your supplies ready at hand. You don鈥檛 want to be hunting for them mid nail removal. Have them all spread out in front of you on the table.
Step3
Using a pair of nail clippers, cut the acrylic nails down as short as possible to make the removal easier.
Step4
Fill a glass bowl with nail polish remover (the type with acetone in it). This will be used to soak your nails in and dissolve the nail glue which attached your acrylic nails to your natural ones.
Step5
Before dunking your nails apply a coating of petroleum jelly to the skin surrounding your nails. This will help prevent the skin from drying out while soaking in the polish remover. Just be sure you don鈥檛 get any on the nail or it will block the polish remover from loosening the glue.
Step6
Dip your fingers into the bowl of nail polish remover and continue to soak them for 15-20 minutes.
Step7
Remove your hands and try to gently peel the acrylic nails off. If you are met with resistance and any or all of the acrylic nails do not easily peel off, submerge your fingers in the polish remover again and soak for another five minutes. Never force a nail to come off if it鈥檚 not ready.
Step8
After re-soaking you should be able to remove any stubborn acrylic nails and will now be left with only your natural nails.
Step9
Thoroughly was your hands in order to remove any polish remover residue and the petroleum jelly.
Step10
If any of the nail glue remains on your nails, simply buff this off with a nail buffer. Be gentle and use a light touch to avoid damaging your natural nails.
Step11
Apply a moisturizing hand cream to your hands and massage in well. This will help replace any lost moisture from the acetone polish remover.

get a cotton pad- round or square, %26amp; break in half. then put nail varnish remover on them. put one half on each of the nail, try wrap it round a lil- u properly wont get it all the way round if its half the size. then put kitchen foil/tin foil round it- wrap kinda tight. leave for about 30mins, then unwrap the foil %26amp; they shud peel off like a sticker, if not give it another 10mins. it worked when i had my nails done properly - french manicure

If it's acrylic/gel, then file all the gel off, and get nail varnish remover and rub it on your nails. Then soak your hands in warm water for 10 mins, and then they should just pull off x
run them under hot water and start at the side and try to dig under the nail and pull them off. also if that doesnt work try dipping your fingers in nail polish remover ! it worked for me.
You have to soak them in warm acetone (not hot) for about 30 minute and push the product off your nails, then buff them clean after most of it is removed.

Find a good work area where you can sit down and be comfortable. A kitchen table works perfectly for this. Be sure to cover the surface of your table with a plastic garbage bags and a thick layer of newspaper to soak up spills and prevent damage to your table鈥檚 surface.

Get all your supplies ready at hand. You don鈥檛 want to be hunting for them mid nail removal. Have them all spread out in front of you on the table.
Step3
Using a pair of nail clippers, cut the acrylic nails down as short as possible to make the removal easier.
Step4
Fill a glass bowl with nail polish remover (the type with acetone in it). This will be used to soak your nails in and dissolve the nail glue which attached your acrylic nails to your natural ones.
Step5
Before dunking your nails apply a coating of petroleum jelly to the skin surrounding your nails. This will help prevent the skin from drying out while soaking in the polish remover. Just be sure you don鈥檛 get any on the nail or it will block the polish remover from loosening the glue.
Step6
Dip your fingers into the bowl of nail polish remover and continue to soak them for 15-20 minutes.
Step7
Remove your hands and try to gently peel the acrylic nails off. If you are met with resistance and any or all of the acrylic nails do not easily peel off, submerge your fingers in the polish remover again and soak for another five minutes. Never force a nail to come off if it鈥檚 not ready.
Step8
After re-soaking you should be able to remove any stubborn acrylic nails and will now be left with only your natural nails.
Step9
Thoroughly was your hands in order to remove any polish remover residue and the petroleum jelly.
Step10
If any of the nail glue remains on your nails, simply buff this off with a nail buffer. Be gentle and use a light touch to avoid damaging your natural nails.
Step11
Apply a moisturizing hand cream to your hands and massage in well. This will help replace any lost moisture from the acetone polish remover.

get a cotton pad- round or square, %26amp; break in half. then put nail varnish remover on them. put one half on each of the nail, try wrap it round a lil- u properly wont get it all the way round if its half the size. then put kitchen foil/tin foil round it- wrap kinda tight. leave for about 30mins, then unwrap the foil %26amp; they shud peel off like a sticker, if not give it another 10mins. it worked when i had my nails done properly - french manicure

If it's acrylic/gel, then file all the gel off, and get nail varnish remover and rub it on your nails. Then soak your hands in warm water for 10 mins, and then they should just pull off x
run them under hot water and start at the side and try to dig under the nail and pull them off. also if that doesnt work try dipping your fingers in nail polish remover ! it worked for me.
You have to soak them in warm acetone (not hot) for about 30 minute and push the product off your nails, then buff them clean after most of it is removed.

First get a good manicure. There are alot of different nail hardeners that work great. OPI Nail Envy, Qtica Natural Nail Strengthener, Nail Tek. I suggest applying 2 coats the first time and then 1 coat each day for seven days. Each night apply a drop of cuticle oil and rub in for a few seconds. This is necessary when using any nail hardener because the chemicals in the nail hardeners dry out the nail which cause additional dryness and chipping. The cuticle oil will help hydrate your nails. At the end of the first week remove your polish and start the same procedure again for the second week. If you follow this, you should see results. I advise against any pills or herbs because this may upset your stomach and could be costly. Invest your money in a good nail strengthener and cuticle oil as advised and you should see great results. Also be sure to get underneath the nails too.Do all of this on a regular basis and your nails should see improvement in about 3 weeks at the very least!

I can't remember what I used to scrape off the acrylic, but something metal (not sharp) like a metal fingernail file will work. It will take a little time, but it's the best way to do it without damaging your nails. When you get down to a really thin layer of acrylic, use a buffer to smooth your nails (if you get tired) and the rest will just grow off.

At a time I thought of buying some. I bit my nails so much I hardly had any and it made my hands look rather un-attractive. At a time I thought of buying some. I bit my nails so much I hardly had any and it made my hands look rather un-attractive. Yes, you can have fake nails only if you make sure that those are not too long and claw-like nails. Also, you will have to remove them while you are performing Wudu(Ablution). You will also have to cover them in front of a non-mehram.
Most women nowadays have fallen into the trap of resembling savage animals with their long claw-like nails, which they then paint with nail polish. This ugly appearance looks utterly repulsive to any intelligent person whose fitrah is sound. Another bad habit that many people have is to leave one nail long. All of this is clearly contrary to the ways of the fitrah. We ask Allah to keep us safe and sound. Allah is the Guide to the Straight Path.

Fake nails cover the real nails, so you could wear them (you are not aldultering your body, like piercings or tatoos). But there is a real heavy negative side effect.... At least for me...
To make your wudu valid (which is a condition for a valid prayer and fast) the water should touch your real fingernails...
In order this to achieve, you must take them off before making wudu (fake nails are the same ruling insha Allah like nailpolish). Afterwards, you can putt them on. This at least 5 times a day....
I have worn them on Eid al Adha after fadjr untill zuhr came and after isha untill i went to bed.. But i must say it was a bit messy with the glue. That afterwards i found it a waste of money and time (the glueing, the waiting, taking them off, cleaning).
So i advise don't start with it...

Ugh, don't do it. Acrylics went out with the old millennium; the only people I ever see with them nowadays are either tacky as hell (think ';Real Housewives';) or ghetto as hell. Or both.
If you must do this anyway, go to a salon and pay the money to have it done right: get the silk wrap or the UV gel or glass tips. Whatever you buy at the drugstore is going to look fake because they weren't custom-tailored to the size of your nail bed.Best fake nails? :)? PLEASE?

Fake nails (tips) with short bitten nails?
i have gotten tips before when my nails were longer and then when i took them off they were fragil and broke. but my nails are really short cause i've bitten them but i have a wedding to go to and need some advice should i get tips agian , like short ones? will they be able to put them on if i barely have nails (like where the white part starts to grow)?

Yes there is a way to do it. If you have had them on for any length of time you need to be prepared because your natural nail will be very weak and you will need to put a hardener on it. I use to wear those and finally decided it was just too much of a hassle so I stopped and it took me at least 6 months to get my nails back to where they were not like paper .....
Things You鈥檒l Need:
* Plastic garbage bag
* Acetone polish remover
* Petroleum jelly
* Nail buffer
* Nail clippers
* Glass bowl
Step1
Find a good work area where you can sit down and be comfortable. A kitchen table works perfectly for this. Be sure to cover the surface of your table with a plastic garbage bags and a thick layer of newspaper to soak up spills and prevent damage to your table鈥檚 surface.
Step2
Get all your supplies ready at hand. You don鈥檛 want to be hunting for them mid nail removal. Have them all spread out in front of you on the table.
Step3
Using a pair of nail clippers, cut the acrylic nails down as short as possible to make the removal easier.
Step4
Fill a glass bowl with nail polish remover (the type with acetone in it). This will be used to soak your nails in and dissolve the nail glue which attached your acrylic nails to your natural ones.
Step5
Before dunking your nails apply a coating of petroleum jelly to the skin surrounding your nails. This will help prevent the skin from drying out while soaking in the polish remover. Just be sure you don鈥檛 get any on the nail or it will block the polish remover from loosening the glue.
Step6
Dip your fingers into the bowl of nail polish remover and continue to soak them for 15-20 minutes.
Step7
Remove your hands and try to gently peel the acrylic nails off. If you are met with resistance and any or all of the acrylic nails do not easily peel off, submerge your fingers in the polish remover again and soak for another five minutes. Never force a nail to come off if it鈥檚 not ready.
Step8
After re-soaking you should be able to remove any stubborn acrylic nails and will now be left with only your natural nails.
Step9
Thoroughly was your hands in order to remove any polish remover residue and the petroleum jelly.
Step10
If any of the nail glue remains on your nails, simply buff this off with a nail buffer. Be gentle and use a light touch to avoid damaging your natural nails.
Step11
Apply a moisturizing hand cream to your hands and massage in well. This will help replace any lost moisture from the acetone polish remover.

get a cotton pad- round or square, %26amp; break in half. then put nail varnish remover on them. put one half on each of the nail, try wrap it round a lil- u properly wont get it all the way round if its half the size. then put kitchen foil/tin foil round it- wrap kinda tight. leave for about 30mins, then unwrap the foil %26amp; they shud peel off like a sticker, if not give it another 10mins. it worked when i had my nails done properly - french manicure
