Are fake nails bad for your real nails, why?

i have had mine on for 3 months now, i don't know if i should take it offAre fake nails bad for your real nails, why?
Only short term. They will look thin, peeling and crappy for a good month or two until your nail grows back fully.Are fake nails bad for your real nails, why?
Only if you go the the Asian places where they grind down your natural nails everytime you go and it makes them thinner than paper underneath the fake part. Go to an American that does them by hand and your nails will stay and grow healthy underneath so when you get the fake ones removed you have strong natural healthy nails underneath. Just make sure to soak them off and not peel them off.

You have had on fake nails for 3 months? Why? You are killing your nail beds, because they have no air to breathe. Hmmm... I would try to get them off as soon as possible, and be aware that your nails could be a wide variety of colors, from black to yellow. You may need to see a doctor if they are damaged. I had a set of acrylic nails on for about two weeks, this was 4 years ago, and my thumb nail has never recovered, it grows uneven and has a white line running vertically thru it. Good luck!
well yes your nails are going to look really bad for a lil wile(untill you grow them back) they are going to look really week and they are going to break alot... no worries what you want to do is just file them a lil and put some clear polish on them sally hanson has some great stuff that will help them grow faster... But if you have had them on for three months stright its good that you are going to take them off they need to breath every once in a wile.. ive had mine on for 7 years
i had fake nails on for about a year without taking a break and i took them off about 1 month ago b/c i lost my job and cant afford them right now and when i took them off it rips a layer of your nail off causing them to be very thin and really ugly, but since then it's grown back and looks fine now. People will prolly tell you that the only thing it does is make your nails thin - but mine grew back to normal in a month so dont sweat it. keep em on their cute.
Okay listen haha I tried to keep mine on too, but I didn't have the money to keep getting them filled.





So, I soaked my fingers in nail polish remover, which is NOT a good idea because that stuff is on your hands for a longass time. But anyway, then I picked and pulled them off. Very bad pain haha. They ripped off the top layer of my nails and now they're very thin.





I love the way they looked, but I'm going to start taking Hair, Skin and Nails vitamins and I vowed never to get fake nails again.

your nails will probably be quite broken, and peely and maybe damaged but i guess it is up to you to keep getting fake nails or not, and my mom also got a fungus from fake nails so make sure they or u use clean equiptment lol
they are VERY bad for your real nail


way bad they make your nails underneath very unhealthy and your real nails start to get thin and they start breaking and ahgsh they are just not good trust me:)
they do not allow your real naails to ';breathe';


i had them and there fine now, when you first take them off they look bad..

They deprive your real nails of oxygen. Every few months they should be removed for about a month to let your real nails breathe.
I just took mine off about 2 weeks ago and they are still sore! Your nails would feel raw and rough once you take them off, but once that grows out then your nails will be fine.
YES AND THEY WEAKEN YOUR OWN NAILS. NAIL HARDENERS DO THE SAME.THEY NEVER LOOK NATURAL%26amp; ARE DIRTY.
try taking them off slowly my gf had them on for a long time and when she tried taking them off it hurt alot...so yea do it slowly :)

yes there bad stop making other people rich by gluing plastic on something your mom and dad created your messing up take them off put what you would spend in the bank whatch that grow
not really, but the glue may scrape them and make them weaker. Other than that, its okayy and they look pretty! %26lt;333

NEVERRRRRR LEAVE THEM ON THAT LONG THEY WILL DAMAGE UR NAILS LIKE CRAZY, WHEN U TAKE THEM OFF IF THEY R REALLY PINK AND STAY SORE FOR A WEEK OR MORE GO TO THE DOCTER!!!!!!!!!!!%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;........
they just destroy the natural beauty of your nails
they just thin out your real nails....if you keep the fake ones clean you should be ok...also get a new set every 4-6 weeks

It weakens your real nails. I love them and will probably have fake nails until I'm 90! =)
