Is it okay for fake nails to get wet?

My BFF and I just bought some fake nails. We were worrying about wearing them in the shower and stuff. So like is it bad if we get them wet?

SOMEONE ANSWER PLEASE!!!!!!Is it okay for fake nails to get wet?
no, but try not to use really warm water so the glue wont come out.Is it okay for fake nails to get wet?
Yes its ok, your going to have to get them wet at some point. But be careful cause this happened to me twice: water got in underneath the nail and it turned a little part of my nail greenish (fungus) So always wash with anit bacterial soap and use hand sanitizer often. And if those nails dont work out so great try Kiss Nails. There cheap and they look like you got your nails done in a salon. People will ask where do you get your nails done?
as a girl who has used fake nails im telling u thats its ok if u do get them wet. so dont worry.
nope dont worry they'll be fine in water i had dem be4 but yeah they'll be ight :)
That is ok! But wear gloves to do dishes etc.( always in hot water)
omg there superglued to ur nails YES U can wear them in the showe.r..
you'll be safe..as long as it doesn't touch warm water
they'll be fine, heck, i went swimming with mine loads of times!!
It is ok for them to get wet, but remember to always carry the bottle of glue with your for ';pop offs';. I found that with stick on nails like sally hansens or what have you I will put them on almost last when getting ready to go out because the bond is better. I find that when I shower the bond tends to have gotten weak from the water so the nails tend to pop off a littel faster.

It is quite alright to get them wet though.. no worries..just carry the glue with you for fast fixes.
They will be fine just keep the water temperature down.
its ok, go for it.
Depends on what kind of fake nails . . . if you bought press-on nails (that came with adhesive already on them) they might loosen up in the shower. If you bought the fake nails that you apply with a really stong crazy glue, then they probably will not come off in the shower right away. But they will come off eventually because water will find its way in around the edges (and it's not like you can't wash your hands for days ha ha ha).

Your natural nail surface is pretty smooth, so any adhesive is going to have trouble sticking to it for long. If you've ever had fake nails put on in a salon, you probably noticed that they roughen up the very top layer of your whole nail to help the adhesive work better.

I'll give you a little extra advice since I have fake nails . . .

I'd go with a professional instead of those home kits. I go to a cheap Vietnamese place in a strip mall near my house and get a full set of white-tipped nails with a gel overlay for only $20. You can find those little places in any reasonable sized town or city.

Those places might look yucky from the outside, but so long as the inside is clean, who cares! The nails stay on for like 2 months, and all you have to do is go back every 3-4 weeks to get the new growth area covered with more acrylic powder/gel. I got sick of spending like $60 in a high end fancy salon for the same thing. Twenty bucks seems like a bargain.

Anyway, if you have a special event tonight--have fun and I hope your nails stay on!
No not at all........but for a longer lasting result you should get them done professionally.
