Fake Nails?

If you put on fake nails do they damage your natural nail when you take them off??Fake Nails?
yes all types and kinds of fake nails will damage your nails and make them more brittle. When you put a cover over your nail you are decreasing the amount of oxygen your nail bed is getting, which decreases nail growth. Also when you take the nails off, MOST people rip the nail off, which actually rips of tons of layers of your nail. However you can make it less damaging in some ways, if you go to a salon that does artificial nails, make sure they do NOT use the electric drill on your NATURAL nail, using it on the artificial one will not do any damage. And when taking the nail off, if it is acrylic, you can soak it in acetone, which you can by from any drug store, the dollar store even. The nails will dissolve in the acetone. Wash your hands after and buff out the rough spots. If you have a gel based nail you must file the nail off, making sure you do not file in to the natural nail bed. Buff the nail after wards. And always use a nail strengthener after.Fake Nails?
No, fake nails do not damage your nails. If you pick, rip, pry or bite your fake nails off then yes you will damage your nails.
yes they do beacuse of the filing a chemicals used.
Don't go to any salons that are not owned by Americans. There are a lot of Asian owned salons in my area and they use the super harsh chemicals that can damage your nails and cause chemical burns on your fingers.

If you walk into a salon and see everyone wearing face masks, this is another bad sign. Walk right back out.

If you feel any pain at all while they are putting the nails on, tell the technition, it shouldn't hurt at all.

I wore nails for 4 years and took them off about a year and a half ago and my nails are just fine!
Yes, I quite wearing fake fingernails about 4 months ago and my nails just starting healing. It made them very thin and turned them yellow. They looked like they weren't connected to my finger anymore in some places. I will never wear them again. They were expensive and I broke them constantly. I tried several different nail ladies and they all broke easily. You have to be a stay at home woman who doesn't clean if you want to keep them on and looking nice. You can't do anything or you'll break them. Waste of money, go shoppinh instead.
nope they dont

and..

please dont call me a sicko
I think they're such a waste of money, they make them look thin, and your nails break easily. and it leaves cracks in your nails, and they look horrible, well It's up to you, their your nails, if you take care of them they should be fine, when I used to get nails put on I'd get them repaired whenver I want them them off. I just get them painted :)
Yes they rip off your real nails They make then very brittle and dry your nails arent as beautiful as before but that is only if you leave them on for a long period of time or if you constantly put them on again.
