Are fake nails tacky or classy?

I want to wear nice nails for my prom but im not sure what looks best!?! And i dont want them to look cheap...Are fake nails tacky or classy?
I think one's that are closer to your true nail length and have a nice shape are classy. Ones that are blocky and long are tacky.Are fake nails tacky or classy?
if you get them done proffestionaly then not usually but if you buy them from a store then YES
I find them tacky, you can always tell that they are fake,no matter how up-scale of a salon they are done at.
I think they look real tacky. Better to be natural than a phony.

I am at college though and most people do not wear fake nails - you own nails can be beautiful and you could get a manicure - I would suggest a neutral color because that is what is really in right now





Look in magazines and see what celebs are wearing...(notice only people like that Hogan girl and Tila Tequila wear fake nails)

They are good, as long as you don't over do it. don't use to many colors, and keep it simple. They should not be real long either, just a natural medium lenght. Don't worry you will look great!
It depends if you get them done they are classy just as long as there natural length and nothing to the extreme. If you get press ons then they look tacky
Personally, I think that no matter how you get them done, they will always look tacky.

I for one hate fake nails. Why don't you get a french manicure on your natural nails? They look much better in my opinion.
French manicures are classy...long neon yellow nails with piercings bolted through them are tacky. I don't know why people do this to themselves. LOL

well i dont think they are tacky if you get them a good normal length. I recommend pink and white powder its more natural looking if you want a french manicure.

I would consider not making them superduper long, a reasonable length probably.


And they won't look cheap, only in you got them for cheap.
Right now the look is short natural nails with dark polish. Acrylic and gel nails are a bit out dated.

I Love fake nails only the ones done at a salon though...as long as they are NOT to long....I like the french tips...I also like some colored tips....Squared....Love em'....
tacky...drink milk, east veg, take vitamins and groom them, i think that fake nails are how they sound..fake and plastic....gross al'natural the way to go xxx
I think fake nails are great! I wear them a lot, but the one bad thing about them is that they make things quite difficult to do! I mean things like using a mobile phone, or opening packets of food. Otherwise, I would say they are totally classy! I wouldn't go with wacky patterns on them, just the colour that suits you best, maybe with gems or small spots on. I hope you enjoy your prom!
Definitely tacky. Go au natural with a little polish. Your date, if you have one, will appreciate it.

Fake nails are in general tacky. Whether they are press on or salon done. The biggest reason is because that anyone and everyone can have it done now. Do it the old fashion way. Take extra calcium and vitamin E. Then the day before the prom get a manicure.





If you feel you HAVE to get falsies then go with someone reputable. I know there have been problems and reports in the news of staph infections coming from nail salons. Hepatitis C, Staph infections and viruses are just part of the problem. Visit the local nail salons and make sure they are using proper cleaning techniques as well as using new buffer, file and towel for each client. Also make sure instruments are cleaned and disinfected between customers. Find out if the health department does inspections of local nail salons in your area and if they do what kind of grade has the salon received.





I can understand how important it is to look your best for the prom. Just make sure you don't put your life and health in danger in the process. Just google ';nail salons staph infections'; in google and you will get about 180,000 hits. It's real and it's deadly.
I think that if you get them really long with rhinestones and airbrushed crap on them, they are tacky. If you just get them painted or french tips they are classy. I would go with the french... Your decision tho! Have fun at prom!
i wear fake nails, i get them done short....they look better....that's what i think...unless you have nice natural nails...then you could just get a manicure!!!
